View Full Version : What is Essential To Have for the Impending Fields Trip?
Well we all know the (Rhonda) Fields trips is coming.
In the next short amount of time, it?s stock up if you ever want to have semi auto.
so that said, what is on everyone?s list that is essential to make sure a person has and won?t be saying ?I wish I would have bought one of those years ago when I could have??
A notarized list of serial numbers of all firearms you currently own. Otherwise how do you prove you owned them before the ban?
I don't have sales receipts for everything.

That seems like a really good idea. Or maybe a separate notarized document for each firearm, so you don?t have to disclose your entire inventory if a single firearm is called into question. (Although that would require a lot of paper and notary fees for some)

How about another state picked out to relocate there? Gotta say, the thought has crossed my mind...

Well, proof of ownership is no longer in the text, so I think pictures of the SN (has a date stamp) should be enough.

I'd buy a few receivers...AR and maybe AK if you're into rolling your own. Maybe some of the stripped lower pistol frames.
I'm tellin' ya... The relocating thing is apparently on a lot of people's minds. I just saw something on a news channel that for the first time in...maybe forever...people are leaving CO in droves. Most cited the political climate and congestion as the reasons.

I would just write the State Senator of your district expressing your views. I remember having a few politicians being recalled over this ploy to bring unconstitutional legislation. Defeatism is not on my agenda.

Good triggers for anything that currently has a mil spec trigger. All springs, pins, etc. A few extra barrels. Suppressor compatible muzzle devices so current suppressors can mount to all applicable guns that currently don't have them. More mags for everything, because I think our era of ignoring that is done for. Buffers and springs. A few extra tubes. BCGs and additional firing pins on top of those.
I'd buy a few receivers...AR and maybe AK if you're into rolling your own. Maybe some of the stripped lower pistol frames.

It's definitely on my mind lately. I've been here 12 years and never thought I would leave, but this BS is getting out of hand.

I could easily write a simple script that can tweak the date of a photograph. Ergo, that is not sufficient.
...but I do need to reread the latest version of the bill.
Good news*: I like shooting in revolver class, maybe I won't be finishing in first AND last place anymore.

Hard to find a printed newspaper, but including one in the picture would be harder to change. And yes, any picture or even video can be modified to change things in it. We just need to make the hurdles as high as possible to discourage changing it.

Previously with the mag restriction, it was on the state to prove it wasn't purchased back when it was legal... is there something in this one that reverses that?
Ditto what Ah Pook said: Miss the state but not the BS.

Colorado is doomed. Polis embraces the thought of becoming California or another shithole state that coddles to the Libs. I may be moving.

This is a good idea and what I did. I made 2 lists: one with SA and the other with others. I also got my trust schedule notarized as well since I have some that do not have stamps on them in there.

The way the US court system works is that it's the job of the prosecution to prove you are guilty thus they would have to prove that you did not have a certain firearm prior to a certain date. It would be on them to do whatever traces they can on the serial number or obtain your banking records to try to determine when you bought it. My guess is that if you did in fact own it before said date that they would find out pretty quick that they don't have a case.
I'd lean towards this not passing on this round but if another incident happens in Colorado that the next time they introduce this that it will pass barring some sort of precedent setting court case. I think Polis wants it to quietly go away because he knows it would be a bad check mark on his presidential asperations but at the same time if it was passed that he seems like the one that would still sign it anyway.
In the mean time call your local reps office and simply let them know that you do not agree with any of this legislation. Yes call, a phone call carries more weight than an email, like everyone else they get thousands of emails a day. Despite the state being blue many counties that have recently turned blue are still capable of flipping back red.

Newspapers are for proving something exists "now", not "then". Nothing stopping you from saving a newspaper from today and taking a picture of a new 'farm a year from now with it.
Notarized. Only way to go.

Yep... 2 were recalled. BFD. How's that working out for you now? I'll tell you how. It's not. Nobody on the left cares...obviously. Since those two were recalled 6 or 7 years ago...whenever it was...Colorado has moved further and further to the left. And it ain't stopping any time soon.
Defeatism isn't on your agenda. Whatever. Nobody on the left cares about your agenda. They care about theirs. And their agenda is winning in Colorado...and they're doing a good job of it.

I agree. I lived there in the 70s for a few years, then moved back in 89 when I got out of the Air Force. Lived there till 2015. I moved for a lot of reasons, leftist politics just being one of them.
But living in a solidly red state...that's getting even more red...is a true blessing.
There was a special election in Oklahoma today asking if recreational MJ should be legal (medical MJ is already legal). It's apparently going to be defeated...soundly...by a nearly 2 to 1 margin. That makes me happy. I'm not necessarily against MJ, but I've seen the unintended consequences of it being legal in other states and, on balance, it's enough to make me against making it legal.
And on the gun front we have at least one sheriff that's promised to arrest federal agents if they attempt to enforce federal rules against bump stocks, braces, etc...unless the person arrested is committing some other gun crime.
Already started. Picked up multiple AR receiver sets, been picking up mags regularly, and just picked up the Tavor TS12 shotgun. There are other pews I want but this has the bases covered for now.

Well chit. I guess I need to get that mag fed shotty.
I?m starting to think demons actually have stock in gun companies because they keep making me buy guns. There are several rifles and a quite a few boxes of mags I have due to these policies. Dumbasses.
Are handguns covered under this idiocy too. Because then do I 1911 or Glock. Ugh.

Interestingly, I saw a qucik blurb on (i think) channel 7 news yesterday where they had the Colorado Dem strategist and a Rep strategist on the show to discuss gun laws.
The Dem said they didnt have the votes in senate and Polis is against the bill. The Rep said "see you in court".
But if the Dem says not enough votes it means 1) not enough votes or 2) we dont want recalls and people packing the capital so we will feign not passing and pass in the middle of the night.
Not sure which one is true...
Dems can pass whatever they want.

The hard part is the bill bans handguards, threaded barrels, flash hides, stickie out thingy's (bugger tubes), sticky down thingy, (pistol grips and forward grips), and possibly a few other items....
But...
I cant find it, but denver post in 2013 had a cartoon of a shop on the WY - CO border. One half of the store sold weed, the other half of the shop (with a line painted down the middle) sold magazines and fireworks.

A friend of mine is a long time truck driver. He says that most of the new hires are Russian, Indian (dot, not feather), and Central American, all with foreign credentials(hinky is the word he used) that are being accepted to apply for CDLs by the state. Provisional CDLs are being issued with no verifiable training.
I got all my lists done a few weeks ago to get me through my last three years here; I still need to get them notarized. I have a used all the time, a pre 13, and a post 13 list. I'm also going to get a second non-NFA trust done with all my semi-autos that have my family members in it so they can check things out to use. I'm leaving the state even though I was born here in '71, but my sister will still be here running the ranch and I really wanted to help her because she is in her 70s now. It sucks that I have to leave it; it is where I planned to retire and it wouldn't have cost me much to build my retirement house on it...sucks!!! I've been buying replacement parts and finishing a few projects, but the match barrels are pretty spendy to buy a lot of them at once. Thankfully, I'm only trapped in this shit hole state until 2026 when I finally retire. I'm listing my house in June and taking whatever I can get for it. I'm breaking all financial ties with this state and looking for property out of state to get ready for my move; limiting my purchases in this state as much as possible to not support it or the economy. Colorado is now among the top 10 of most people leaving the state. The crime is getting worse because of bad policy decisions and insurance rates are skyrocketing because of all the theft, violations of people's rights during COVID, circumventing TABOR with all the fees, and the attacks on gun owners make this state a terrible place to live. People that believe in freedom are all fleeing the communist run states for the free states, which sucks financially because the housing market is crashing here and going up in the places I'm looking at. There will be a big financial hit with this move; my home value has dropped 200k in nine months....30% drop predicted in the metro area. Colorado is a lost cause. It is part of the corruption machine that is taking over much of the country; time to cut ties with it and fortify the free constitutional states that still exist...no desire to be stuck behind enemy lines in a place like Colorado.
The legislature should draft a new bill to make this the new state flag so it's more representative of this state's core values

Also lots of immigrants from various African countries, based on my skewed view of the drivers I see in the ER after they crash.

Funny.. working construction though I will say that there is definitely a contingent of Eastern Europeans here and there on job sites. There is a group of guys that I see on job sites now and then that pull the wire for fire systems, those guys are from Russia and Ukraine and you never see them without a cigarette in their mouth.. Not sure how they manage to get by doing that on commercial job sites. Up in Aspen there were Russians working in the trades everywhere, Brits made a pretty good showing as well.

The shop's still there. But run by the folks at Rocky Mtn Shooters Supply, in ft collins
Shooting benches with bags should be scattered around the area, based on what I see at the shooting range.

What good does that do without barrels, handguards, etc (the parts ban in the bill)?
