The lawyer who won a record-setting settlement for Sandy Hook families announced two lawsuits Friday on behalf of the relatives of Uvalde school shooting victims against the manufacturer of the AR-15-style weapon used in the attack, as well as the publisher of Call of Duty video games and the social media giant Meta.
The lawsuits against Daniel Defense, known for its high-end rifles; Activision, the manufacturer of the Call of Duty first-person-shooter series, and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, may be the first of their kind to connect aggressive firearms marketing tactics on social media and gaming platforms to the actions of a mass shooter.
The complaints contend the three companies are responsible for "grooming" a generation of "socially vulnerable" young men radicalized to live out violent video game fantasies in the real world with easily accessible weapons of war.
The lawsuits allege Meta and Activision "knowingly exposed the Shooter to the weapon, conditioned him to see it as the solution to his problems, and trained him to use it."

I didn't see any popups asking for logins. Maybe my adblocker snuffed it.
I do my best not to post those.
Why not sue the Uvalde PD for not doing their job? I get it, the pockets are not deep enough.
Sorry, Sandy Hook has too many holes. Literally and figuratively to commit any further.

The supreme Court has already ruled that the police have no duty or requirement to protect.

That POS coward cop has already been acquitted. City settled with parents.
BCM is getting ran through the wringer as well.
So if this is legal and supported by our judicial system, couldn’t we formalize a class action suit against the manufacturers of things like cars, pools, bikes, baseball bats, trampolines, roller blades, skateboards, literally any kinds of sporting goods equipment, just because their products are marketed to kids and result in injury or death because of their misuse? That is asinine.

It is legal and has been used many, many times.
Remember when Red Bull had to pay out because their product did not actually give one wings? There are hundreds of examples of frivolous lawsuits because of "false advertising".
Grooming and conditioning are just new twists.
Class action lawsuits are supposed to be about keeping companies in check. But I think we all know that it is a cash grab, although, in this case, it is also about political leverage and potential punitive action against a company on the outside of the so-called mainstream.
I think that Activision in Facebook were thrown in there because their incredibly deep pockets and to give the appearance that the lawsuit is not solely about guns. Even though it sure seems like it is.
Disclaimer:
Anyone can sue anyone for anything. Doesn't have to be supported in the law. Sometimes they can even win.
You can go down tomorrow and open a suit against your neighbor, accusing them of being a space alien, abducting you, and doing butt stuff.
If your neighbor doesn't appear and fight it, you may very well get a collectable, default judgment.
Occasionally, you may even be able to get a judgment even if they do appear, because at the end of the day, we have a judge-icial system. At the end of the day in a contested case, all that matters is the preference/bias of the sitting judge. And normal/good people don't usually become judges.
If this seems absurd to anyone, I could elaborate more, but this is the TLDR.
Did the shooter actually use a Daniel Defense AR?
Did the shooter actually use a Daniel Defense AR?
Assuming it actually happened, and that it happened the way the media portrayed it. Then yes he did.

Oof...
Yeah... about that...
That shooting did, indeed, occur... but for whatever misguided reason the Obama administration decided to quash all details of said shooting, literally perpetrating a widespread coverup at the federal level, ostensibly to remove the perpetrator's notoriety and prevent copycats... then freaks like Alex Jones pounced on it and declared "there was no shooting, they used crisis actors and wanna take yer GUNZ!!!" Whereupon his wingnut fans began harassing the families of murdered children.
Of all the horrible things Obama did during his Presidency, his mishandling of the Sandy Hook shooting is probably at the top of that list... and he should be held accountable.

The Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, TX was NOT a false flag event. YES, the shooting actually did take place and 19 young children and 2 teachers lost their lives. An additional 17 people were injured, but survived.
This was a horrific and tragic event that really did occur. As much as a part of us wants to believe in false flag events, there is really evil in this world that has no respect for human life. Bad people will do horribly bad things and they usually target those with the least ability to defend themselves.
Law enforcement failed to breach the school for 1 hour and 14 minutes, resulting in further lives lost. Those LEO's learned nothing from how to handle a crisis like this from the Columbine event. As I understand it, none of the officers who mishandled this situation remain in law enforcement positions.
But, there is a lot of blame to go around, not just the LEO's who failed to act. Going after Daniel Defense, Meta and ActiVision might net a windfall for some folks, but the lawsuit should never have been allowed to proceed. We all know the firearm isn't to blame for the actions of a sick mind. Going after Meta is just stupid, even if the plaintiffs see deep pockets and a potential 9-digit+ payout. And, while I do believe that realistic video games are desensitizing people, especially children, to death, the game didn't commit the horrific act either. Even when parents aren't busting their butts to provide for their families, most are failing to parent. The world has lost its moral compass and right is now wrong while wrong is now right. Mental health issues are skyrocketing. So, whether it's by a firearm, knife, machete or a rolled up Cosmopolitan magazine, we'll continue to see more and more of these events occur. And yes, they'll all be real.
False flag operations of any type are still usually very real attacks, the events are simply very carefully planned, controlled, or manipulated to bring about a desired result. Usually to redirect blame to an opponent to start conflict with another group that was not at fault.
How it works is Country/Entity/Individual A attacks Country B whilst flying the flag/dressing as/pretending to be from Country C.
Country/Entity/Person B then declares war/blames/attacks Country C or, allies themself strongly with Country A.
Sometimes the enemy of your enemy is just an enemy.
For a relevant historical example, Country A uses unmarked aircraft to attacks Country B Ship. After failing to sink the ship, out of desperation and/or ineptitude they then attempt to sink the ship with all hands, fail again, then prepare to board the ship with marines to kill all survivors, fail again/give up, so instead of being able to pass it off as, hey look Country B, Country C sunk your ship! Country A is forced to maintain the lie for 57 years that it was an accident. Yet still, somehow, Country A end up with getting a stronger alliance with Country B.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when a VR game is in the spotlight. If you think things like COD are realistic VR games are teaching our kids real weapon manipulation and really bump up the immersion.
I have nothing else to add that hasn't been said.

A federal lawsuit filed in Colorado claims the Purina pet food plant in Denver continues to be a “noxious” nuisance for not doing enough to stop bad odors.
Years of complaints about the smell coming from the Purina pet food plant in north Denver are now spelled out in a lawsuit that alleges 2,000 households near the plant have consistently been hit with “rancid,” and “noxious” odors.
Just like the idiots that buy near the airport and complain about the noise.
