I got it right this time.... Two weeks away. Thoughts?
I will be there barring snow,, Might even be there in spite of snow.. Been too long.. Besides, the Blazer is in one piece again.. (Knock on wood.)[Abused]
I would like to join the club shoot. I'm new to this so I need to ask if it's cool or do I need to do anything? Do it cost anything? Are there directions to the site?
From Parker, is it easier for you to get to Woodland Park or, Deckers?
Answer that and We'll go from that point..
Woodland park is good, I live a mile from I-25 on Lincoln. Straight shot to CO Springs.

Woodland Park is the long way for you.
Go to Sedalia then take 67 to Deckers. Google Maps from Parker to Dekers will show you the way. It's easy as long as the mountain roads are dry. When you run out of asphalt, you have a fork in the road next to a bar on the west side of the road. Doesn't matter which road you take. they both empty off to the same road. The left fork has less grade. The right fork has some iffy spots, but is faster.
Edited to add: I assume the shoot is at the South Site?
Cool that works, I've gone both ways, sorry, I've driven both ways lol. The Bar your talking about, is this the bar where the motorcycle trail comes out. If it is I've ridden and fished up there many times.

Yep, that is. There's better fishing down by Deckers and in Cheeseman Canyon, though. I used to fish upstream from Deckers for about a half mile or so and had my share of 50+ fish days. Cheeseman is tough until you figure out how to match the hatch and not spook the fish. It can be real tough, but lots of really good sized trout there.
Yep, I love fishing Cheesman canyon. Well cool. I did discover that if you take the time and read a little bit you can find info like GPS coordinates. I know exactly where its at. Thanks all.

So far the weather is looking good for Saturday.
What time do people usually show up at the sight?
I get there about 8-8:30,, More to let the dog run than anything else, before everybody else shows up..

Well, I finally made it to one and it was great meeting all that showed (Yes, even Troublco!).
I don't remember who I had promised that I'd do this for a month ago, but I did bring the Easy Street Wheat (I haven't been able to find the Henry Wineharts though - the places I used to get it no longer carry it!).
The next event I make it to I'll bring the Easy Street along as well. (I've had a case of this stuff for over a month and I've yet to try it.) so, if YOU are among those who said we need Easy Street Wheat, you need to make it to the next event.
ETA: This was the first time I had made it to a shoot and I was a bit concerned about being made fun of for not being able to hit the broad side of a barn - from inside the barn. No judgements were made and it was just a fun day of shooting.
Thanks to Troublco for the offer to shoot the SOCOM - Yes, I really wanted to shoot it, but I wouldn't have been able to do it justice.
It's just amazing how many of us have such great friends that would loan us their guns to go shooting for the day after we all lost our own in those tragic boating accidents.
Good time [Beer] thanks fellas.
Just finished cleaning guns. 10:40

That's the worst part of shooting - having to clean the guns afterward. I've still got to clean the GSG-5 - tomorrow!
I think Sniper wanted the Easy Street, and Ridge wanted the Root Beer.

Good to meet everyone. I enjoy cleaning the guns while listening to a baseball game. Except when the lose. Then I'm in a fool mood all day. And the Nuggest losing to the Spurs. I hate the Spurs and their coach and the Brazilian flopper.
I also wanted to say it was great meeting all of you that made it. Also a special thanks to Marlin for all his help. Thanks to Jerry and Marlin for letting me use tape, dots and target stands. I will be more prepared next time. Also thanks Sixgun for letting shot the lever action, that was cool. Again great to meet you all, se ya next time hopefully.

It was great meeting everyone. Oh, fine, even Ginsue. I think Sixgun is going to wind up costing me whatever a S&W M&P 15-22 goes for......my boy loved it. Looking forward to the next one i can actually get to!
I'dve had an Easy Street for Sniper too, but I could only do one what with the boy with me, and driving and all......
