went and took a look at the new mustang drag car today, salesman says the sheet that came with it says it weighs 3200 pounds, and run's low 9's high 8's at sea level, but you know how salesman are.... chassis is nhra certed to 8.50 i'm not a ford guy but it is pretty sweet. but bidding starts at 125k so i'm out...

If you get the parts from the Ford Performance catalog to go with it you could realistically have a 9 second car according to them.

Probably collectors will snatch em up and stick em in storage.

There are a few on YouTube running 9's and one cracked off a high 8 I'm saying the h.p. Of the motor is underrated by ford If no changes were made after they picked it up.

After you buy the Performance Parts from Ford.

We race extensively You gotta pay the 125k to go fast. (I go 6.96 at over 200 at Bandimere)
build alot of cars so the HYPE has alot to do with the sales pitch.

yep, we only have a little over 20k in our budget build, and we should be in the mid to low 9's. below are a couple of pics while we put the engine back in a few weeks ago.(with the body off) now if the wind stops and the track can stay open a full day, we can see what she will do.

What dealership is that Moostang at? I didn't know they were doing a supercharged version this year. I saw Bob and Billy Glidden match race the 2010 prototypes out in Vegas a few years ago, those guys are 2 of the coolest guys you could ever meet in drag racing. I've met both a couple times and they are always friendly, unlike alot of others out there. That Ford has its work cut out for it, the new Challenger with the V10 has been 9.40's already.

Sadly Bob isn't doing so good these days.
Billy can make a Ford cook. We didn't go to FL this year but have been several times for the Street car shootout.
10.5 is real racing.
