Well I couldn't wait so I put the gun together with the BCM upper receiver.

Lower:
Noveske Lower
DD Bolt Catch
DD Mag Release
Armalite Trigger Group
Milspec LMT Buffer Tube
LMT SOPMOD Stock
Carbine Buffer Spring
Standard Buffer
RRA Star Saftey Selector (Modified)

Upper:
BCM Upper Receiver
Noveske 16" Recon SS Mid
TRX Extreme 13"
Troy Folding Battle Sight BUIS
FN FA BCG
AAC Flash Hider
SS x16 Scope

Everything went perfect no problems during the build. Installing the rail I needed to index the barrel nut one more spot for the gas tube (25 pounds) so I went through the torque range about a dozen times with anti seize to get it to settle on target. I made the executive decision to move to the next tooth at about 64 pounds.

I'm looking for a Noveske upper receiver to finalize the build but I had the urge to finish it off for a 3 day class held at the end of June. I'll shoot it one of the three days with iron sights to put it through it's paces.

Looking at my notes I was actually at 30 #'s when the notch lined up but the instructions from Troy said "Do Not Exceed 60 #'s" so I tried to stay within the spec of the FF rail. Oh well I was close but feel better to have it a little over than at the bottom of the spec.

I'm taking it to the range this afternoon and will post the results. The Noveske is capable of a good group so it's all on me now. I hope my old eyes can stay on task.

Personally I dislike the SuperSniper scopes because they are so heavy. I think Nikons and Burris' work just fine for 99% of us. But that is a gorgeous rifle.

Gun ran flawlessly except for a small tweek. Trigger started getting harder to pull after about 150 rounds. Removed hammer and noticed a burr and uneven surface finish on the ends that mate with the inside of the lower receiver walls. Took a fine stone and knocked it down to a smooth surface and replaced the hammer spring with a slightly lighter one as well. Other than that it was operating just as expected.

Sighted it in at 25 yards with the Troy BUIS below.

After a few rounds dialing in the sights, my son and I finalized the location to center L-R and about 3 MOA low. We moved out to 100 and did our final adjustments to zero on center. My eyes were showing signs of fatigue so it was time to move on to the magnified scope. The group below was at 100 yards and the best I could muster after 2 hours of shooting. I did not allow the gun to cool or anything like that just kept shooting so I can see the results in a continuous session of fire.

So to sum it up the quality and accuracy of components used to build this AR surpass my level of punching paper but will fit perfectly in the intended use to train and protect with a high degree of accuracy and reliability.

Well Given that you reside in the Communist Sub-Californian bubble that is Boulder, I'm afraid that because I fear for your safety and the continued safety this wonderful piece of machinery, I, as a fellow shooter and rifle enthusiast, have to insist you remove this fantastic weapon from the risks it faces by being in such proximity to Hippies and Pseudo-Californians and deliver it and at least 3000 rnds of ammunition to a safe house outside of the threat area, e.g. my house :)

Nice build. How are you liking the TRX Rail?

Post you safe house address and I will get it out of here [Eek2] ASAP!

The TRX feels great! I was worried about the sharp edges I saw in all the pictures. Not a problem and it feels pretty light considering the length. It will be put to the test next week since I have a 3 day class Wed-Fri and another Tactical II Carbine on Sat. Should spend enough time in the dirt to see if it feels right.

I ordered a Noveske upper receiver early last week and it came in on Thursday. I rebuilt the upper so now it's complete. I put my Aimpoint M2 on the AR before I disassembled it and took note of where the dot and sights lined up. After the upper was re-assembled I adjusted the sights to the Aimpoint so I should have it spot on in a short period of time. I'll be at the range re-sighting it in on Sunday morning.

Range time was productive. Started to use Brian Enos grease on the trigger so I'll see if this holds up under class conditions. Anyone else try this?
