I was thinking about it and thats what this forum will become if we keep on bitching at that mods about making new rules. We are the first to complain when Government over regulates our lives, but we want to fuking micro manage the site. And newbies will make mistakes, thats what they do. Also I have a camera phone, my kids have "washed" my last 3 cameras. So i'm waiting till they get older to get one. If there are no pic's, its not the end of the world. If anything we need as few rules as poss. I think the mods do a good job at patrolling the site

partly agree. When some one post WTT on a gun and do not list what they want, do we need a mind reader, run through 3 pages or replies, or pm's figuring out what they want in trade?
This is supposed to be an adult gun board not Marco Polo.
The lack of responses from those selling or WTB an item is insulting to those whose time is actually valuable and not sitting in front of the pc 'waiting' for a reply.
I ask an interested party top CALL ME as i am NOT ON LINE with a contact number. What happens. I have 3-4 pm's /em's waiting for me, telling me they have not heard back Do I Still Want the Item in question WTF???

But some people are POS, and alittle dumb. You can ingnore anyone you want. It seems being a dumbass is fine in todays world. I just try to ignore them. Just saying enough with the Rules.

Amen damnit. I post pics sometimes but sometimes I don't. My camera was trashed not to long ago. Enough new rules quit whining about pics. It's getting really bitchy.

ill agree no pics is not the end of the world , its not that hard to send a pic from a phone if the party is truly interested

Agree with a lot of the stuff said on here. The one thing I don't agree with is the no picts thing. I think if you're selling something, especially when you want $1000+ for something, not posting a picture is stupid. But as long as you have some means to send them to someone, via text, etc, then that's fine...

"Thank You Sir, may I have another?" Kevin Bacons best role...........................

I don't buy and sell a bunch but if I am shopping I want an accurate and truthful description and posted pics are nice, but not a deal breaker. Some folks don't like plastering pics of what they have online and that's ok, however if I inquire about pics the seller should provide them. On some items are pics really necessary? I mean we all know what a Magpul BUIS looks like or 500 rounds of Lake City.

As far as reasonable rules go I also feel that is a necessary evil. We have all seen the train wreck that happens when there are too few guidelines to follow or people disregard the rules.
There has to be a system of checks and balances and the mods do a great job here.
I feel we all can do what we can to make their job easier.

OK, now THAT was funny !!!!!

All we (site Mod & Staff) are trying to do is make it as easy as possible to sell/trade your goods.
Instead of posting an add that gets 'hassled', post one that gets exactly what you want, as quickly as possible.
We're really not trying to be dicks about it, just making it so adds don't get 2-3 pages of junk responses about the item in question.

Thats what I was trying to say, you guys have enough to do than create new rules. A picture will help you sell an item, but its not the end of the world if you do not.

I'll put it this way, the picture is up to the seller, it is more helpful for the sale, but yes, not the end of the world.

Honestly, 6-7 months ago if had been my call, I would have close that section down. I was done with it. I was getting between 35-50 pm's a day about this, that, or the other in there. I was afraid to even get on here.

Now, I'm hoping that with the minimum 15 post rule to post in there will be the last one for it. That is one that had I found it years ago, it would have been there all a long.

Now, I don't want this to turn in to arfcomII, far from it. But when it all boils down, that is up to you guys, Treat each other with at least a little respect, and it won't have too..

Here is another opinion that is probably worth less than you are paying (I believe I creatively procured that phrase from another member so I can't take credit for it). This comment will be pretty much the same as one I posted on a similar thread. FWIW, there is a fine line between some rules and regulations and too many.

This will sound a little wishy-washy. Some rules are are necessary to function, but having too many becomes cumbersome and downright oppressive (OK, maybe an exaggeration). I totally understand the perspective of wanting members to contribute and not simply come to hawk their wares and I'm not in disagreement with that. When you have so many different personalities and opinions on a forum such as this, there is never likely going to be 100% agreement on what is optimum (as far as 'da rulez).

My only caveat is a caution that minimum posting may slow the problem, but not cure it because there may always be a few who post things to get the count up enough to be able to sell something - never to be heard from again. Perhaps that is a glass half empty view, but certainly possible.

Agreed - pictures aren't a dealbreaker, but speaking only for myself, I certainly appreciate them and/or a very detailed description since most sellers are around 3 hours (one way) from me and I'd like to be pretty darn sure I want the item before I drive that far. That doesn't stop me from requesting more information, however, if it isn't listed and I'm interested in the item.

In any event, I appreciate the site and also the selling forum (although I have to admit I'm more of a buyer than seller) [Muaha] and I appreciate the folks who devote their time to making the site what it is (members included). Time for a group hug. [Flower] (Ok, not really)
