Make it look like this.
I wanted to do a com-bloc version of the XM-177 / Commando / CAR-15 just for ****s & giggles. All i see are magpul stocks, magpul stocks, magpul stocks. on ak's so i went a different route
I took my Draco-C pistol
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u129/51jim/gun%20pic%20place/000_0001-3.jpg
and following ATF guidelines went to a rifle config until i decide how i want my SBR to look.
Stock is an used Ace folder, AFG (YES it's a MAGPUL ) generic AK quad rail from the used bin, used permanently attached a 5.5" AR flash hider to round it out to a legal 16.5' bbl. I have had this sitting in the locker until i located the parts to turn it in to this gem.
I don't think my picture taking does justice to the semi finished project. I don't normally get excited about a toy i wanted to do, but this one is up there regarding a keeper. This unit shoulders nice, sights go right up to line of sight, feel of it is very comfortable.

Sure, i will be in the alley about 20 min from now. lets see how many neighbors we wake up:)
Looking at getting together with justin and wringing this unit out. He stopped by today and want's to do something similar, couldn't pry his hands off it.

That draco is bad ass, or as you would say Jim, zippy. Now my idea, imagine that same thing but a .223 draco with an ar mag addaptor ;) I love the flash hider, I should get one for my 5.45 east german I'm building while I'm waiting on my tax stamp
That is a very nice looking Ak Jim. You are making me want to build one I wish I had the funds to do so.

I had an AK pistol once, and it looked like it would require machine work to put a stock on it. How did you do it?

the draco has an underfolder rear trunion, i could have drilled holes through he side of the receiver, but do not like cheek weld of the UF. I dug up an ACE folding stock unit
http://riflestocks.com/store/product105.html
squared it to the rear of the receiver center punched 2 guide holes then drilled and tapped for an 8-32 button head bolt. if you had another one we could knock it out in about 20-30 minutes. A little patience (which i lack) and this is the end result. I an removing the f/hider and follow justins suggestion i turn down the back section of the hider to match the front sight block diameter. I have a few nfa toys and will do this one in to a SBR eventually, however i am liking the look i thought up and may just keep it as is.

Is the Draco threaded m14x1LH or did you rethread it to 1/2-28? Or did you find a flash hider threaded M14-1LH?

reamed out the 1/2 x 28 threads and did a slip fit on to the muzzle.

thanks now i have copy cats in my own back yard:). the more the merrier. Remember you saw it first on my Draco.
I'm thinking of picking up another one to rig up something else in a pistol-rifle config. I have enough spare **** "somewhere" in the shop, ask justin or brycom. They are always tripping over crap. The price point on them is reasonable enough i can do what i want for under $425-450 tops, unless i go AKrazy.
Where's my ring dings???????????????????????????

No i like the compact SR, mimics everything else i have in a SBR config. I'm more an urban than reach out and touch shooter.

What ever you do, DO NOT LET them expire. Send them to Justin, he end's up here every once in a while.
