Why I thought that living on a third floor apartment would be a great idea is beyond me. I just spent the last four hours going up and down two flights of stairs before having to take a break. 90% of my stuff is loaded up in the trailer and the ready is staged and waiting to go. I'm going to get the rest of it later tonight and then stay the night at my brothers house for a fresh start early in the morning to start my 850 mile trip to Phoenix with a layover in Pinetop to visit with my Dad and his wife. Then on Friday, I'll have a nice leisurely four hour drive for the rest of the trip.

Sounds like fun! I just finished moving from my first floor apartment into a second floor apartment, luckily the apartments are ten minutes apart. But, I decided to attempt to quit dipping cold turkey the same day I had to move. That was a BAD idea. Luckily I just finished setting up the internet and cable, so now I can get my internet fix!

Good luck too ya man!

At least you have a shorter drive ;) It'll take me 3 days-I can feel my arse getting sore allready!!
Good luck with your move!

Easier to defend against the Zombies... Don't have to worry about the windows so much... [Beer]

Ugh... I lived on second floor apartments for the years between college and buying a house. I thought the same thing. Third floor would be horrible.

Did the same for my sister today. Except we moved her INTO a 3rd floor apartment.

First apartment here in CO was second floor, next one was first floor. All my houses are going to ranch style like my current one. My knees just do not like stairs.

I feel much safer on the 2nd floor. I can leave my patio door open all night and only worry about someone coming through the front door.

Bet money I can make it to your patio. I locked myself out of my second story apartment and just climbed to the patio and walked in. I never left that open again.

There ya go! That's what I want, a big, sprawling ranch house! With no goddamn stairs, except down to the big, sprawling basement.

One of these days I am going to be wealthy enough to pay someone else to move for me.

At my current rate of wealth accumulation, about 75 years when they move my body to the grave.[Bang]

My wife and I moved 6 times in 12 years due to my occupation.. Luckily the 2 companys I work for packed and moved us each time... Each time I tell my wife to buy the house she wants because I'm not going to move us since I swear each time we move our load of crap seems to grow..

When we were searching for places I looked specifically for a 2nd story apartment that is inaccessible. Thats as good as I could find! I am by no means a ninja, but in no way could I get up without a rope or a ladder.

I am a climber. Have been since my mom yanked me off the top shelf of a book case at age 1. Not saying many people could do it. Running start and run up the wall a bit. Grab the floor of the patio and start pulling your self up using the perfect hand holds of the railing. The hard part is the pull up till you can get your feet on something. Hand over hand for a fat guy(me) is hard.

Did this to one with a wood railing and the "bar" came off in one hand and I was hanging by the other for a split second. Then I dropped to the balconly railing below me. Thankfully I broke my fall with my testicles.

12 inches of Plexiglas on the bottom out side of the railing. Cut some small holes and hose clamp it to the railing. Now thy have to pull up and make a grab instead of just climbing. Much harder.

I might have to run by Lowe's and get a 12x12 and do this. Thanks!

I dated a girl who got stocked by a guy who climbed up to her second story balcony. Her dog wouldn't let him in and the police had to make her put the dog in the other room before they could even walk her out. I'd personally feel a lot more safe on the second floor where we live now.

Well, it's time for the final loads to be brought down and hold out. packed into the trailer. Hopefully my knees can hold up and not hurt too much before I'm done. Then it's time to get some breakfast and hit the road to Arizona.
