It's Bush's Fault, No it's Europe's fault. Either way O has plenty of places to blame but himself.

I've been arguing with my wife since mid 2008 telling her to take all the money she has in investments (investments she's had since long before she had me so it's "hers") and buy gold ... if she'd have done it back then gold was $800-1000 and now is $1600-1800.

But no, ONE TIME I accidentally added instead of subtracted when balancing the check book so now I NEVER know ANYTHING about money

So all our wealth is tied up in paper that will be made worthless should there be a major banking crisis ... the rest is tied up in our property (which will be defended with all the ammo I invested in).

I will say that Greece would be so stupid to ditch the Euro and pretty much force theirs (and the global) economy more issues... Looks like Athens will fall once more...
Luckily I am friends with our local bank's president and my dad is on their board, so any looming disaster and I'm liquidating all of my accounts and buying up ammo and food and getting ready for the apocalypse. [AR15]

Spain isn't too far behind Greece, if the fallout happens, Spain will most likely go as well and the scenario outlined in the link will be the best case, not worse. AND Portugal and Italy are right behind Spain.....it could get pretty serious

Germany is the key to all of Euro's problem, go figure

But hey of the Euro takes a shit the US Dollar will rise

Why? The EU has been forcing their laws and demands on countries for a decade or so. Their song of You can have monetary support providing you do this and that.
We are up in arms anytime the .gov tries and force a mandate on us, why not Greece?

They've just evolved. Realized you don't fight a war using bloodshed and bullets, you just buy everything they own (government bonds = mortgage banks...etc) look at China. Why would China every want to start a war or try to invade the US, they already fucking own it [ROFL1][ROFL2][ROFL3]

Exactly, when shit hits the fan it will be a barter system, paper will be worthless. Stuff in and around your house is gonna get you food and water, and your guns and ammo are going to allow you to keep it.

In the short term that is correct. However assuming the SHTF isn't deep, long (or possibly permanent) converting your paper to gold NOW will mean that you'll have that stored wealth on the other side of the dark times.

If they are deep, long or permanent I probably won't survive them anyway so it won't matter.

Only if you were fortunate to see this series.. In one episode they located some water and the 'owners" of said water asked what they wanted. Asking for some water owners want to know what it is worth to them?
DB holds up 3-4 rounds of ammo and ask if this will work. They cheerfully accepted the ammo for water.

Greece will have a vote on this Sunday. Let see which party will dominate the seat. CNBC Europe still thinks Greeks will exit the Eurozone within 3 years.

Spain just had a "loan"
Italy is another/different issue.

This week's gain was most likely from short sqeeze.

My plan is to go "long" after Sunday's news on Greece for < year.

It is matter of which poison they gotta take.
Greece has to pick their poison and move on.
Dragging will definitely isn't helping the global economy, but that is they will probably do.

JUst watched Fixed income analysts and economist blabbering Greece/ECB/Eurozone on CNBC, but it was all stuff we already know about.....

I've said something very similar to this here or elsewhere.

The Germans will want something in return for their largess, what do you think that might be. Anyone, anyone, Bueller, anyone?

I actually don't know if the Germans want the entire continent again, but they'll want something.
