Had my appointment May 19. Checked the mail Sunday after about a week of leaving it and guess what showed up. I figure almost exactly one month to get it all out of the way. Sure beats the three months they said it would take.

Just under 7 weeks. Nice. That's about how long it took for me.

Really? There are some guys on the forum claiming it took 60-90 just to get the appointment? Is this true?

I am wondering because i am sending my sister down there and wondering how long it is taking?

Appointment - 0 to ???? days
After appointment to CHP in hand- 0-??? How many days?

Anyone know?

It did take about a month or so to get into the office. They were running up to three months but have started doing Saturday appointments to help speed things along. I would get an appointment before you take a class if that still needs to be done. You for sure aren't going to get right in.

Excellent! When I got mine through EPSO in 07, they told me 2-3 weeks, and it took 16-18 days. Still a good turnaround though.

Hey so i am a little perplexed here; a neighbor of my bro-in-law says he has been waiting over 60days just to get the appointment???

What gives?

XJ- Yeah, when I did my renewal in April it took about two weeks.

10mm- I'm sure the demand has gone up in the last five years. And once he gets his app in, they should be pretty quick about it.

Mine in Douglas Co took 17 days . 15 minute wait , then filled out paper work , paid the fees , printed and to the photo. Total of 45 minutes !

Maybe they aren't going the Saturday appointments right now. When I first made mine it was almost right at three months to get in. I just got lucky and they called with some Saturday appointments that were available. The appointments go very quick probably less than 30min or so. They run them all day. There are just a lot of people to get through. I agree though you shouldn't have to wait three months just to have to wait another three months. I'm glad they are that busy with people wanting to carry but it still sucks to wait.

El Paso was quick when I went through the paperwork portion but I was 80 days waiting for the permit in the mail. The wait time fluctuates heavily with demand. You just have to believe that they are doing the best they can and be patient.

When I called for my appointment last week I was given one 6 weeks out. She said to keep calling, though, as there are always cancellations.

It took me about a month to get the appointment with El Paso County; the appointment took 15 minutes. The time lag for the permit has been with CBI; Colorado requires CBI do the background check, instead of relying on the federal NICS system. CBI has 90 days, and was taking all of that around the first of the year; however, I received mine in less than 60 days. They must be catching up...

BTW, Colorado will accept your NRA certificate for up to 10 years, so if you schedule it now, it's not going to expire before you have a chance to get your CCW.

Last I heard, El Paso County had over 18,000 permit holders, up from a level of 3000 that had been steady for a long time.
