I was in a small one in San Diego while visiting an old Navy buddy. It was kinda mind blowing. A very odd feeling having the ground move beneath you!

First one I was in, I thought someone fell down the stairs hard. Then I realized I was in a one story home and there were no stairs.
It's definitely a weird feeling.

I felt the same thing. You in Kabul, BAF or points farther east?

Hmm, Earthquakes in 'stanland...? I never experienced one when I was there, add that to one more reason YOU WILL NEVER SLEEP! [Coffee] We could have had several but we had one of the most active artillery units in RC East so we wouldn't have been able to tell... :D
Stay safe over there, all of you who are deployed!

My first earthquake was that one in 2010 that hit just south of Toronto, felt it all the way down in Fort Drum and some of my friends in Syracuse felt it too! Crazy....

Grew up with them in SoCal, no big deal. In fact, I slept right through the San Andreas quake. The Northridge quake was interesting, it was like slow ripples on water the way it rocked through OC.

Growing up in southern CA you get used to them. The 5.0 and above are always fun.

You know I have been through three quakes and did not notice any of them while stationed on the west coast. They were decent sized too I guess. One I slept through and the the other two I was drunk off my ass having just returned to port from a deployment. All that time on a ship and I guess the ground would have to really be moving to make an impression.
