Under control tonight- trust me. I didn't start this one back up. Won't go much farther here either. I think I made my point and little need to just troll.

Iron Eyes Cody was NOT an American Indian, he was an Italian. Just another media trick. FYI
Thanks but I don't recall implying that he was an Indian at all. In fact I recall hearing that "revelation" back in the 70's when that PSA aired.
You know it's a, I say it's a metaphor son.

I'm not your son- and as posted, it was just an FYI.

Easy man lighten up. Heard of Foghorn Leghorn? Funny shit.
I've been avoiding this thread like the plague, but my brother made me read it and now I'm a little pissed off and feel the need to call some of you out.
This guy, fat and dumb though he may be, chose to exercise his 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights in a time and place where it was legal but unpopular to do so. You pussies that are calling him a dumbass for doing so will be the first ones to roll over when the other shoe finally drops. Have fun in your re-education camps.
Just a bunch of internet tough-guys who are all supportive of defending our Rights when all you have to do is talk about it, but when someone takes a stand you hide behind the sofa and cry that anyone not hiding is simply exercising poor judgement. Shame on you.
What was that tiny percentage of Americans who stood up for an unpopular ideal and called themselves Patriots when we declared our Independence from Britain? Thank God for those men that had the courage of their conviction and would not be told to sit down and be quiet because they might cause trouble.
Thanks for volunteering your names for the list of those who lack the testicular fortitude for action so the rest of us know who to avoid wasting our time on when the SHTF.
Flame on. [Flame]
Only internet tough guy post I see is yours. And thank you for not wasting your time on me when the SHTF. I'm sure I'll manage just fine. Where else can one have this much fun??

I only said that if you talk smack about standing up for your Rights (as happens frequently around here) and then berate someone who actually does it, then you're a pussy. Not sure how that makes me a tough guy, but whatever.

Maybe it just makes you right.

There a time and place for everything. Now and at that place and in that way was NOT a good judgement call to stand up for your rights. You realize that most liberal groups we make fun of do exactly what you are sayin right? In fact "standing up for their rights" is a coined phrase of theirs. Rey use it, as it is here, to take away all responsibility or acting like complete idiots. It's my rights man!!!! Ok. No one here or anywhere is even talking about taking away those rights. All we are talking about is exercising caution and prudence when exercising them. If everyone in this country went around exercising our rights to make a statement or just because we can, we would all be assholes and would likely get into a lot of trouble. As stated, especially with a ccw there was no reason to open carry in a highly tense place during a highly tense time. He should have used his brain.
Most of us are trying to look at this objectively. We get made when groups we are not a part of exercise rights at awful times or purposefully try to ruffle feathers. It's only right we identify the times that our groups do the same and chastise them for poor judgement and decision making. Otherwise we look like a bunch of sheeple that simply think anything to do with the right to beat arms is free game, while criticizing people who routinely exercise their first amendment rights because we don't agree with them.
The only defense I have seen this far is "it his right!!!", or "he has to exercise it or we will lose it!!!". Meanwhile no one is even talking about him not having the right or those rights being taken away. I am sure everyone of us will defend him if that's the case. This isn't a rights issue at all. This is about thinking before you act. I don't see anyone here protecting the Muslims or WBC when they exercise free speech and start saying they have to exercise that right or it'll be gone. However, I'll bet if anyone ever did threaten to take away their free speech we would defend their right. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should or at least should without thinking it all through.

Here is a link to the attorney defending Mapes: http://www.highlandsranchlawcenter.com/our-colorado-attorneys/robert-b-wareham/
I pray no one ever needs one, but it pays to have a number or at least a short list of attorney's to choose from if the worst happens.
Be safe.
Hopefully he isn't charged with anything

Charges Dropped Against Man Who Wore Gun In Theater
James Mapes Arrested Wearing Sidearm In Thornton Business
Posted by Wayne Harrison, New Media Producer
POSTED: 5:18 pm MDT August 8, 2012
DENVER -- Charges have been dismissed against a Northglenn man who was arrested after he wore a sidearm into a Thornton movie theater.
James Mapes was arrested on July 29 in the middle of a movie at the Cinebarre Theater after someone called police to report that a man had gone into a theater with a gun. Mapes told 7NEWS that he’s worn his sidearm into the same theater several times. That changed last month.
