So my side came today and my 6+ year old grill is falling apart. Need to buy a new gas grill and everything and everyone points to a Weber.
Can someone please talk me out of it? The wife will shoot me if I spend 8 Benjamin's on a grill but all my research says this is the way to go.
My neighbor picked up a sweet grill off craigslist due to the fact they were moving. I'm not sure how I feel about using a grill that somebody else used. But it was an option that I hadn't thought of.

If you grill year round go for it. If not what else could you get with the same features for less price.
It's labor day weekend and the big box stores are running 10-30% sales. Buy the floor model, pointing out it looks a little damaged :)
I'm using a 15 year old Weber that has had the grill and flavor units replaced. The rest works fine.
Ours is the simple three burner two level unit.
WEBER!!!! Cry once and be done.
you could buy a Char-broil or anything else for $300....and buy another in 3 years for $350...and another in 6 years for $400
or you could just go out and buy a weber today for $900 and be all set for 10 years
I fell into the first trap for 15 year. And replaced my grill every 3 years. I've had my weber now for 2 and it still looks brand new. The key is to buy the one that's all stainless (grates, bottom of tub, deflecters...you know all the inside stuff)

+1 on the weber. I just picked one up in July.

Do you buy crap guns and put no-name oil in your car? If ot, why compromise on the grill? The heat distribution will be better with a good grill. Weber kettles are less than $100
I ended up with a Member's Mark grill (Sams) off Craigslist about 4 years ago for $150. All stainless except the burners. Needs an igniter and have replaced the regulator, otherwise, it has held up great.

We bought a Char-Broil Red Grill about 5 years ago...one of the big IR models. Fantastic grill. Aside from a couple of the labels coming off (who cares) it's been great. Love the rotisserie that came with it.
I keep telling my wife we need to get a charcoal grill! I miss using one. Have used the gas grill exclusively for years.
I have a Ducane grill. Its been a good grill and half the price of a weber

I had a natural gas installed on my patio BBQ area where I keep my charcoal grill as well. I am looking at either natural gas grills ( grill master, master forge or weber). I also will have to buy a conversion kit for an additional 50 to 70 dollars.

I have the smaller Weber Q and that thing rocks! So i'm sure the bigger ones are of equal or better quality.

I spent $60 this year and replaced the burner assembly and deflector on my 10 year old Kenmore and it's like new again. Got the parts from here http://www.clagrills.com/grillparts/bbq_grillware/bbq_grillware-grill-parts-home.htm

I have two weber grills, the $400 model for home and the small Q100 for portable work. Love them both.
So my question is: Do you really nee such a large grill? I'm always cooking for 4-6 people and get away using a smaller weber home grill. The $800 model must be something pretty big!
Ace hardware sells them and all the parts and pieces. FYI.
What are you people grilling, Buffalos, Buicks? I have a $70 weber that I have had for 15 years.

As far as Grill... go with Weber's Genesis series. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Love my genesis. I've had it for two years and I use it 3-4 times a week. Invest in a $30 cover for your expensive grill and it will literally last for decades. My dad's weber is 23 years old. Over the years he has probably spent less than $200 replacing components that have worn out from heavy use. +1 for Weber.
