Well crap. I was going to go check that place out one of these days. I stopped in there a couple weeks ago and the shop was closed during business hours. I guess now I know why.

Knowingly sold firearms and ammunition to individuals that were felons and or under indictment and could have been imprisoned for more than a year(even if they weren't.)
Strike one
In possession of unregistered NFA items.
Strike two
Multiple counts of the above.
Strike three
Game over.

With him being open for a short while makes me think the alphabet crew were tipped off in regards to questionable practices.

Almost every instance where I have heard where the Feds have stomped on a FFL it could have been prevented if the FFL was on the up and up.
As noted above: play stupid games.

he didn't have unregistered NFA items (well, he might have), but he had guns in the shop that weren't in his books.

oppps, that's bad.

I was about to point out the same thing. There is such a thing as gun registration when it comes to dealers and their books.

Logged in to the bound book.,Not Registered. They do not register a gun, only verify serial numbers to the vendor invoice and check to see same sn# on the box it came in.

My friend was telling me about this yesterday. The investigators had UC's approach the owner and ask to buy a gun off the books, giving a BS story and admitting that they were a felon but getting it expunged blah blah blah and help me out man. This is what is going to be hard to make go away, selling a firearm to someone telling you they are a felon and cannot legally purchase is no bueno.
