Except some counties have a requirement that an an instructor see;s you competence with the weapon. Douglas county for one does, and an online cert won't work.
Edit: Never mind, didn't were you meet with an instructor.

That's awesome. I'm all for legitimate training but I also don't agree with the training requirements for a CHL so I'm all for this.

All counties are accepting our certificates EXCEPT the following: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, Larimer, Jefferson and San Juan.
Can someone validate this? This would be awesome.

What do you need validated? The ability to obtain a CHL permit in your county? Call your Sheriff's Office.

This pretty much excludes the entire Denver metro area.
If the NRA finds this they'll pull their credentials, there was a newsletter about this stuff last year.
has anyone on here used this?
This seems pretty interesting, but I'm sceptical. Has anybody completed the training video and gotten a permit yet?
I just took the test and passed it in less than 5 min without wven watching the video. Crazy. If someone in el paso county says it works, I may give it a shot!
type in certnow at checkout and save some coin too!
I am super skeptical to say the least

Good luck, When I did my paper work they said Maketa was cracking down on people's paperwork. I guess he found out that people were editing certificates so that they didn't have to go to a class and he was pissed. Good news though, they supposedly added staff so that they can push out permits quicker.

Haha, I somehow managed to miss one, o well most of the info i used there was from when I was 15. If it wasn't such a long wait to get a CHP, I would have my wife do this. Although I would prefer that she takes a course with more material.
I'm really glad I got mine a couple years back when i turned 21. I remember they told me it would take around 60 days, but it was at my door in less than 18.

I'll be honest - I hate the idea of online firearms training. But I also believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility. If your county will recognize a class from these guys, it may be worth a gamble. But I also really hope that you get some additional training from someone real (and in person) at some point. Just like every ccw student, I hope that isn't your last firearms training class!
Going to my local sportsman's warehouse Feb. 9-10. Fuck it it is time to shit or get off the pot. I have been talking a good game for years. I owe it to my family to be prepared at all times. I am gonna make it happen

I love that attitude. Way to stand up!
Wow... this just days before I get my instructor cert... I'm kind of glad several counties don't allow this.

Well, I just got my hand signed certificate (http://i.imgur.com/FcAUj.jpg) in the mail and an appointment to submit my paperwork in Denver Co next Monday. (I was originally told mid-May, but asked to be placed on a cancelation waiting list and got a call from DPD earlier today asking if I was available next week)

Arapahoe county explicitly states that online classes are not allowed. So I would suspect submitting a certificate from an online class would be a bad idea.

If they are even remotely as busy as Arapahoe County it will more than likely take the entire 90 days to get your permit. I was told Arapahoe is receiving 20-50 applicants every day, even with the 3 o clock cut off for new applicants showing up it is not uncommon for them to be processing applicants well past 7PM. Apparently they have hired 3 additional people to process applicants but are still having a tough time keeping up.
