Does anyone do computer repair or can anyone recommend a good guy to do it?

I have an HP laptop that the screen just went out on. When I start the computer the screen will come on for 1 second but then it goes away. The screen is still there and I can barely see it as it is very very light. Almost not there but just barely.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

My Dad works on laptops, Might be a little far away from you though. His shop is in Windsor.

What model is the laptop? I have an HP laptop that you can have for free. If it's the same model a drive swap should do it. It's in perfect shape, probably only used a few hours.

This one is a G60-549DX

This one is a HP Pavilion dv6. SO i hooked it up to my TV via an HDMI cable and she still works so it looks like it is just the screen. Can these things be changed out?

Yes. It is best to find one out of a parts computer as buying one new is very costly.

Base on your description, it may just be the backlight on the LCD. Cheap and relatively easy to replace.
