The Hick has spoken and the Dems are a majority. We can guess they are going to try. I have been doing a bit of research to look at the facts in Colorado. I figured I would share a few links on hard facts in Colorado and across the nation. Here are a few links. If you have some good info to pass on, so we can be informed to fight it please post it here.
In a nut shell. Colorado is pretty darned safe.

Here is a no brainer as our incarceration rate went up Crime and Violent crime went down Signifigantly.
http://dcj.state.co.us/ors/stats1.htm
We only had 149 homicides in 2011 including negligent homicides. Our Population was 5,116,796 Homicide rate of 2.9 per 100,000. Thats incredibly low and far below the national average of 4.2. The District of Columbia tops them all with a rate of 17.5.

Of the Homicides in 2011 147 in this table (149 in the other) only 3 were with rifles 39 with Handguns and 26 Other firearms. Why are they wanting to ban semi auto rifles and pistols?

National Homicides stats weapons etc .

Gun control has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with control.
Public safety is just the fig leaf it holds up to disguise its true intent.
This is great. There has to be a way to get this information out there to the people that need persuaded. Good post and I think that I will look around a little while and see if I could find things to add to it.

Good stats there Mountain Man, but as Circuits says:
Gun control has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with control.
Public safety is just the fig leaf it holds up to disguise its true intent.
So what we need to do is convince the Demonrats in Denver that there will be SERIOUS political consequences of pushing any gun control on the people of Colorado.
Factual data likely won't have any bearing on what legislation is proposed.

They don't give a shit, check their voting record.
Look guys i know you all mean well and feel there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Hate to break it to you That Light is a TRAIN and it's a coming this way. NO ONE in .GOV who has a D really cares what you or i think or believe. They want to force us, like a frog in boiling water, to relax. let them take care of us and not realize until too late just how fucked we are.
Circuits and others know what i am talking about you need to wake up send money to what ever gun .org you want and get active if you have not already.
Believing Co is "relatively safe" is delusional to say the least. Co is the bellwether for stringent gun control, once they ram it down our throats here, O will use the CO law as justification, because, AMERICA has SPOKEN and the time is NOW.

I have no doubt they will try to ram through what they can. There will be people that testify before legistlation. I plan an making sure my reps and the reps in my area are armed with the facts. Most around here are pro 2nd. There are some pro gun Democrats and if they have the information it can help.
Having this kind of information helps to prove without a doubt that any gun control proposals have nothing to do with public safety. Its still going to be a fight. If the media will actually focus on these kinds of facts it may be enough to engage people who might otherwise sit on their butts to get involved.
Its one thing to have have a Federal and State Constitution to protect you. Thats what they are trying to subvert. If you can knock down the retoric with facts and prove many of the lies you have some ammo (so to speak).
They are claimimg law enforcement want gun control. Thats a giant bag of B.S. as well. Thats one of Perlmutters lies and others will try to use it. Since CCW has become common all crime has continued to decline property and violent crime.
In El Paso County the Sheriff was the driving force behind the new range. That says something. They already have their own.

You are correct. Join some state and national organizations. Write letters and emails and make some phone calls. Don't sit back and watch it unfold. I would hate to win on a national level and lose it here at home.
I plan on doing as much as I can. We are going to have to fight like the third monkey trying to get on the ark.

Oh yeah, Colorado is going to be facing a metric ton of gun restriction bills coming down the pipe. We don't really have any other pressing problems at the moment to divert their attention.
As far as I know Denver city and county is the only one with a magazine restriction in place. That will be the model for the entire state. All manner of AWB variations are sure to follow, as well as overturning campus carry. It would not surprise me if they ended CC effective immediately.
I hope RMGO gets the funding to fight this, and stays right in their faces the whole time.
