Congressional pay should be one to one with the Median Household Income of $52,762.

it should be a volunteer position to serve your country.

and only part-time at that. and you have to live under all laws/things that you pass.

They live on donations from organizations anyway. Those that pushed for the stimulus and kicked it back to them for elections and businesses they have interest in. Just need to prove it and all will be well after the trials and linchings.

This would be huge.

So she doesn't want a pay cut, but she's ok with all of the other sequestration cuts?

Term limits and public hangings for misconduct.

Term limits and public hangings for misconduct.

I'd settle for the public hangings. You know...in the spirit of compromise. Besides...hanging 'em solves the term limits part anyway.

True. So you're judged by your conduct as an elected official each year. If you're found to defy the constitution, misrepresent the people, or dishonor the post, it's the gallows for you.

We're gonna need a lot of rope.

I'm all about due process. They deserve a fair trial. Then we can hang 'em.

A trial by a jury of their peers? That won't help any. They'll lie for each other. Washington is all back room handshakes and under the table deals.

This. To hell with the enlisted and officer pay thing; these people's pay should change based on how well they do their jobs. If they do them at all...

you have to live under all laws/things that you pass.

THIS!! Their elitist bulls**t needs to end.

I'm all about due process. They deserve a fair trial. Then we can hang 'em.

Due process is good. We should set the example. Then hang them.

I like it! Can we make it retroactive, like Domestic Violence?

Dignity of Congress...most of them squandered any "dignity of their offices" a long time ago. They have none left. So she can take her "dignity of congress" crap and stuff it. An officer is accorded a certain amount of respect due to his/her position, as is an NCO. Any more is earned. Elected officials who don't respect our laws, our Constitution, their constituents, deserve no respect and have no dignity, IMHO.

These people have not been able to pass a damn BUDGET in how long? If they can't do their job, they should not only not get paid but they should be removed after a reasonable time and REPLACED. (Yeah, I know, "reasonable"...[ROFL1]) Fire the slackers.

No budget passed should equal no pay until passed and from now on, any deficit spending comes out of their pay.

If pay is such an issue, how do so many of them become millionaires so quickly?

Special interest groups, hand shake deals, "campaign contributions".

Unfortunately, this would take a Constitutional Amendment.

Fuck Pelosi. I cannot find the words to express the disgust, disdain, and resentment I feel for her and those like her. [Rant1]

A "Cee U Next Tuesday" of the first order......and I reserve that term for only the most vile among us. One cannot mention "Pelosi" and "dignity," "respect," integrity," "common sense," etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., and expect to be taken seriously.

If you know what tax loop holes and pork is going to be passed and when you know where to put your own money for the greatest benifit.

Now that's a great idea. Of course, they'd start lining their pockets even earlier and faster.

Yeah...funny how they exempt themselves from insider trading regs...

I'll say it again: 12 year limit on serving in Federal elected positions. Pay at the mean income for constituents in their states. No free health care, no retirement. If they want to retire, they can save in an IRA like the rest of us. Holding a Federal office prevents EVER being employed as a civilian by the Federal government in the future, as well as forever being barred from lobbying at the Federal level.
