He is testifying for background checks but the shooter of his wife passed a background check.
Sounds like AZ needed to get their shit together and they would of stopped the guy from buying a gun. Oh and I thought it was a 3 minute time limit?
Teufelhund
03-04-2013, 12:14
He just said "80% of Coloradans support universal background checks." Did anyone ask you Coloradans? They sure as hell didn't ask me. I guess "gun-owning Coloradans" don't count.
His logic is so fouled that it's difficult to listen to
82% of Colorado wants checks on all gun transactions? Where did he get those numbers?
I suppose it would be bad form for one of the senators to ask him "Where in Colorado do you live"?

Senator called him out on the Giffords shooter passing a BGC. Kelly responds that yes, he passed it, but if he hadn't he had the option to go buy a gun from a gun show or an internet private sale without having to do a background check. NOT IN COLORADO, IDIOT.
Kelly just stated openly that he has NO EXPERTISE ON THE COLORADO BILL.
What the fuck? Why is he testifying then?
So he isn't an expert on the bill why is he here then?

Oh yea... now we've got the ATF guy who last time couldn't even remember the name of the "Clinton-era Attorney General" who personally tasked him with coming up with a plan to lower violence in 15 targeted cities. Wouldn't you know know the name of the Attorney General who "personally tasked" you with that?

He just called the Brady Bill "like a flawed airport policy." Good, repeal it then.
So, which of you are going to directly refute his claims (ATF Shithead) and say directly that he is only here because he is being paid thousands of dollars to spread misinformation.
Again -- the NUMBER ONE WAY TO GET RID OF UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS -- Call them bigots. Tell them that if they pass the law that they are discriminating against gay and lesbian couples.
Hey ATF guy 43 people die each day from drunk driving. What are you doing about it?

Hyperbole and emotion. They do not listen to logic.
For those of you that get up to testify today - Do NOT base your entire argument on logic, you MUST step outside your comfort zone and get them to respond at an EMOTIONAL level. Call them out.

All they do is repeat the lies. These people are the worst of the worst
You can also bring up that in the current verbiage of the universal background checks bill, that as an NRA instructor I could not hand and unloaded weapon to a student while I am training them. It would require a 3 day, at current times, background check when I handed it to them - and other 3 day wait time when they hand it back to me. For a class of 10 students this would take 60 days.

Right before they shut off the audio someone was getting rather pissed and the chair for not being able to speak.
The news is saying this in regards to SB 197 "Legislation that would force convicted felons and anyone subject to a restraining order to relinquish their guns to law enforcement is the first of seven Democratic gun control bills being heard Monday to get the go-ahead".
Can anyone clarify that? Subject to a restraining order? So if some crazy broad files a restraining order, you're effed?

It only requires that if you have a PO issued against you to yank your guns, it also conflicts with the CO Law already in place that does the same. It's shear stupidity.

Exactly, your nutjob neighbor that hates your NRA sticker could potentially file for a order for protection and if granted your F'd.
Here are my prepared amendments that have already been vetted by my lawyers and that you have all already seen.. This way I can still vote how I wanted.

Weak bullshit but typical of the left... emotionally charged.
Yes. Directly.
The state doesn't even know that you have put in for a NFA item through a trust. So how will it effect them?
Will that ultimately be legal ?
Trusts are legal entities of the state. The state can regulate them as they see fit.
The big question of whether armslist, gunbroker, etc. are facilitators under the definition of the bill -- the answer was "no" that 3rd party facilitators are not liable.
If kids wrote letters saying they want happy meals for lunch in school so they can be "happy", would politicians make it happen?
