I am bidding on 2 o/u shotguns on gunbroker right now. If I win both of them will I have to get 2 background checks done if they ship in the same box?
A BC is good for 30 days I think so I would say NO.

As long as you pick them up at the same time and fill out 1 4473, only once ..$10 plus ffl fee.

A guy at Sportsmans was telling me they'll do up to 5 on a single 4473. So if you pick them up at the same time you should be good.
I have picked up 2 firearms on one 4473 form. Just has to be done at the same time/day. The 4473 is good for 30 days, but get closed out the day you pick up your gun or in this case guns. My FFL does charge a per gun fee for the transfer tho.

But you will have a separate ATF form if you buy more than 1 handgun on the same day.

Since when?
I just had my friendly interview with ATF yesterday pursuant to getting my FFL01 and the investigator emphasized the need to fill out the following form if multiple handguns were being purchased.

Was there emphasis on handguns? or just any gun in general?

Correct it is an internal from, but it pops you up on the radar. That's all I'm saying.

Not multiple 4473's for multiple hanguns..... it's a multiple handgun disposition form. It is filled out by the DEALER only. Not the transferees problem. Transferee should not SEE that form. Also doesn't matter if five handguns are on one form, or two on one form, or if there is one handgun on one 4473 and another handgun on a 4473 four days later. All end up with the dealer having to fill and file form. Congratulations on your seeking a 01 but catch up a bit!
Read again what I posted. I said nothing about multiple 4473s. I said that when multiple handguns were purchased another form was required. Note I did not say the purchased filled it out either. Any other strawmen?

"A guy at Sportsman's" doesn't know the rules. They can add an addendum to the 4473 if there's more guns than can be written directly on the 4473. The "special" form is only for multiple handgun sales. However, I'm not an FFL, and haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in a few years. :D
