THESE are my edits. however the yahoo blurb reeks of the same " tolerance" there was in the 30's & 40's
The Hitler Youth, Damian Legacy and Blake Bergen, have announced a coordinated campaign to rid the campus of the JEWS, reports (http://www.gwhatchet.com/2013/04/04/students-mobilize-to-remove-priest/) The GW Hatchet, the school’s independent student newspaper.
INSERT GERMAN where left leaning is
The plan to oust Shaffer includes the creation of a video containing the statements of several students who have left GW’s Newman Center. That video, Legacy and Bergen hope, will surely arouse the generally left-leaning campus to anger, thus forcing school officials to act
Beyond tolerant, beyond diverse, beyond acceptable. Of course the campus will do what ever to "OUST" free speech and different thinking from their AGENDA
Exactly the problem... they want free speech and diversity, as long as the speech is in perfect jack-booted lockstep with theirs, and the diversity consists of their rigid demographic.
Isn't Father Shaffer just being a good Catholic. Tell those two gay guys to get over it and worship whatever religion they want if they don't agree with the tenants of Catholicism. I don't agree with Islam, so I don't practice it. Stupid.

"Gun Smoke" reality TV will be replaced by "Gay Guns" and Bigfoot will be captured on Brokeback Mountain...
seems the same sentiment could be spread around. if you dont agree with something then walk away. no sense getting up in arms, the preacher is simply following the tennets of his church. takes nothing to walk away and find a different church.
This is my main issue with the gay rights movement, and most of the other minority-empowerment causes. They're not striving for equality, they want us to treat them like fucking celebrities. I don't have the slightest problem with gays - like I've said before, my best friend is a die-hard lesbian (gun-owner and fellow conspiracy theorist - good people. :-) ). I don't agree with the lifestyle because it's in conflict with my religion, so I choose not to celebrate/practice it. I have no problem with somebody else making a different choice. My issue is when they want the red carpet treatment just because they're a minority.
The priest isn't under any obligation to change his views, just because a pair of poofs got butt-hurt by his. Any more than they're under an obligation to attend his church in the first place! For fuck's sake...

You're right, Jim, it's the same as it was in the 30's and 40's. The same "spirit" is at work. The same 'sentiments'. "They" will not stop until the opposition is eliminated, instead of stopping with 'being treated equal'!!
It's amazing that at its most basic level, it's just thuggery and bullying: "listen up school, you better kow-tow to our demands or we'll cause trouble!". Well, we all know how to deal with bullies, don't we...
Here is my thing...you can be gay without forcing your lifestyle on me. You can be liberal without forcing your beliefs on me. I can be conservative and a gun owner without forcing my beliefs on you. Now what is occurring with the marriage thing that they want to push thru isn't for the benefits or the certificate...it is so they can FORCE churches to perform the cerimonies. So they can FORCE others to take part in a lifestyle they disagree with.

Not just that, and I too have no problems with the GLBT community (several friends who fit that moniker), they don't want just equality/acceptance, they want any dissent treated as morally horrid and wrong, much like people who thought (or still think) other colors are lesser people. They want anyone who disagrees tarred and feathered and treated as a bigot and akin to racists. They want to silence disagreeing or contrary opinions. It's not enough that they get their way, they want to get their way and everyone else to get in lock step behind their beliefs and accept it. Well I don't give a crap what they do behind closed doors, more power to them, however I don't agree with it, I don't want any part of it, and they won't let me just be left alone. Screw 'em.
Folks need to get away from having special protected classes of people that are treated differently. People are people. Murder is a crime. Murder of a homosexual is just that. Calling it a "hate crime" is BS. The killing of 2 similar individuals is some kind of "love crime"? Stop overthinking this crap.
If you don't like the programming, change the channel. If you don't like the religion, move along and find something that works in your life.
Your opinion is just that. I have my own. Agree to disagree and get on with your own life.
