A friend just sent me this. Interesting from the WSJ.

I wish they would have entitled their catagories differently:

Enhances Freedom and Restricts Freedom

I think it's interesting that this one is considered strengthening the laws?

Wyoming - Would allow a judge to carry a weapon in his courtroom and prohibit someone else from carrying a weapon in his or her courtroom.

A quick search turned up this on an older page.

What places are off-limits when carrying a concealed weapon in Wyoming?

Any facility used primarily for law enforcement operations or administration without the written consent of the chief administrator
Any detention facility, prison or jail
Any courtroom, except that nothing in this section shall preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in the courtroom

What's really cool about that article is this:

25261

I guess the Utah legislature doesn't go weak in the knees at the sight of a man with a rifle slung over his shoulder.

It's only a Ruger. It's not like he could hit anything he was aiming at...

I think this one was actually under the "strengthening gun control laws" section. Or as i would have phrased it: Restricts Freedom

Or how about Arkansas? I think the map maker was really confused. This is nothing new for a news organization.

That's usually a problem with the shooter, not the rifle ... [hahhah-no] [AR15]

I dunno... those mini-14's don't have much of a rep for accuracy. It's the main reason I've shied away from them in general.

So THAT's why nobody on the A-Team ever hit a goddamn thing.

I was able to hit a 12" steel plate at 180 yds off-hand 5 out of 10 times using the stock iron sights on my Mini-14 last weekend on my first mag through it since purchasing it (factory setting, no dialing in of the sights). The sights are kinda funky but I don't think it has an accuracy problem. I wouldn't want to bet my life on having to repeatedly hit 200 yd targets with it but at 100 yds I wouldn't be so skeptical.

Isn't that the standard excuse for poor shooting? Ranchers don't seem to have a problem hitting coyotes or prairie dogs with them and I doubt they'd be such a popular platform if they were as bad as you're making them out to be. I hate the legal crap imprinted on the barrels but I have yet to see a Ruger that had accuracy problems -- Ruger shooters yes, Ruger firearms not so much.
