This barn will be 36'x48'x12' sidewalls. There will also be a 12'x48' lean to on the South east side. Total size will be 48' x 48'.

I had 2 of my friends come over to help set the trusses (4/12 pitch). We did this in 20-30 mph winds, with freezing drizzel. It was miserable. My tractor only will lift to 10 feet, so it was of no use, since the sidewalls are 12 feet high. The trusses weigh 390 pounds. We man handled one end at a time up the walls. We hung them point down. We used a come along to flip them point up.

My wife and I built almost everything else so far. Just the two of us.

I would be done, but the wind wont stop, so we cant hang the steel. I will update the pictures as I get more work done.

It will have a man door and a commercial roll up in the center 12' wide and 12' high.

Looking good. Dumb question but, will there be power?

yes, Stu.

When I get done building it, I will run the electrical and get the inspection. Lights inside and out, plug ins all the way around the inside, with 220.

I still have to add the lean to to the right side. It will be a full 12 foot deep and 48 foot long. that will be plenty of room for livestock pens or whatever you need to have mostly protected..

I will have water via a frost free hydrant and power.

Next project after this will be about a miles worth of 4 strand barbed wire and posts. Bet you wish you could help, dont you?

I look at those trusses and wonder why the roof just doesn't collapse. [Coffee] The trusses on my PB are rated for 120mph wind and 156" snow. They look a little beefier. Interesting way to attach the purlins. We just ran them (16') over the top of the rafters. Gave me and extra 3 1/2" of roof height. :p

Nice looking building. [Awesom]
