Do we really need a benefit concert for any and every news event that happens where at least one person loses at least $1 in monetary damage?
On another note.. I personally know someone in Boulder that is worth over $1m that received a check from FEMA for $1800 as they were going door to door and giving money to anyone that had water damage whether they financially needed it or not.

So what you're saying is
a) You're fine with people having to wait a month to get a paltry handful of dollars from the government to replace their lost house, and
b) You want the IRS sharing your tax information with everyone else to make sure they don't give you too much money in said event?
More benefit concerts the better. Folks want to give away their money, great, charity is a good thing.
FEMA handing out money to rebuild private property is wrong and it pisses me off. Govt is not giving away "their" money, they are giving away my money.
I believe it. My dad's in charge of the Highway 34 reconstruction at Estes, and he describes the FEMA workers there as on-par with TSA; bulk hires with no common sense who don't really know squat. They put up a poster telling people to be at their trailer at 12:30 to start collecting their info for future disbursements...problem is, they didn't talk to CDOT at all. They were supposed to be working in that area at 12:30, but due to the number of people my dad had to send the contractors home for the day, costing valuable time (supposed to have a temporary road open by Dec 1) and money.Quote:
