Silly billy. 9mm or .45 > .40. All the best of both in the 80's maybe, realistically these days all the negatives of both.

I love 40 for one main reason: each time there is a panic buy, that's the only ammo still available on the shelves!

I think the wear and tear on a gun is a bullshit argument. They obviously thought the 40 was a better round so replace the parts on the gun. How many rounds are these guys shooting? This is another waste of taxpayer $$$$.

Shot placement is king, penetration is queen, everything else is just gravy. Hit an organ, artery, or the brain. Disregard caliber arguments.

I carry a one firearm in each caliber that way I have options depending on the situation.
