The trend seems to be that you get what you pay for. It might be worth it to drop that gun off at BPTactical and let Bert work on it a bit. He's a long way from Delta though!

Sure are a lot of nice 1911's here! I have one crappy phone pic of my TRP....
Those TRPs are crap. Want to get rid of yours?[Muaha]
I bought it from a gunsmith here by Delta (Ash Mesa Armory) who likes to mess with 1911s. He sold it to me for wholesale to try it out. Whenever I have a problem I take it back to him and he shows me how to fix it. I'm not really hating on the pistol because you cant make them for that price and not have problems. I've also had a RIA 1911 that had little things that needed tweaked on it. What I have problems with is the so called primary 1911s and the problems some of them have. If I have to tinker on them I'd rather pay 300$ instead of 1K+. Some of them sure look nice tho.
I've got 1000 pounds of wheel weights that I plan to cast bullets with and run through this pistol by summer of next year. We'll see how it holds up.
Everything you said makes perfect sense to me. Good luck with that hogleg! Shoot the frack out of it. It'll still make you a better shooter, even if the pistol implodes in the end.
Here's another- well- not really. I think it almost counts though. This is my Sig 220 SAO with ambi-safety and beavertail grip just as on a good 1911. This .45 is just superb in every way- and Commander-sized, if a little thicker around the grips. 8-rnd mags, tritium sights of course. Very limited production and no longer made. Thanks to Crashdown!![Wave]
That info came from S&W I have all kinds of info so when my kimber friends start talking about my 1911's I just show it to them to shut them up. I did not see anything in there about sending out raw parts it said slides and recievers I dont care I know what I know and I see all the kimber guys who dont want to believe they own a S&W (early kimber) but it does not change the facts, I wonder if that is why kimber had external extractors for awhile.
