Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 270.6
Previous Weight: 270.6
Lost since yesterday: 0.0
Total Weight lost: 20.2
Most Weight lost: 23.4

Gained since fast: 3.2
Thought I would post an update as to how things have gone since I ended the fast. In the 5 days since I've ended the fast I've gained 3.2lbs which I feel is good weight (muscle lost through atrophy) because even though I've gained 3.2lbs my belt has gotten a little bit looser. I've been walking and doing more active things here and there and have been watching what I eat. The last part is actually quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. My stomach has shrunk so it makes it easier to control portions and since about week 2 of the juice fast I haven't had any of the cravings that I once had. I've been eating better food, no breads/grains or dairy, no pop and have avoided most of the sugar that I once ate. I used to drink sweet tea and that even sounds too sweet right to me right now. Last night I had dinner at BJ's in Fort Collins with the in-laws & finally had the steak I had been craving and a side of steamed veggies. I only ate half of everything and was stuffed making it easy to box the rest up. There's no doubt that before the fast I would have eaten my meal (probably something fried) with less healthy sides, pop, some of the other's food that they didn't eat and probably a bunch of bread. As it was this was what I consider a large meal compared to what I've been eating since the fast and it was still less than 1/4 the calories I would have normally eaten at this meal plus healthier food. I haven't drank much juice since the fast but I think that's just because I had done nothing but juice for nearly 3 weeks and my body was craving real food. I'm sure I'll start mixing it back in shortly and plan to juice up some veggies today in fact. In all, I've lost over 20lbs even after recovering some muscle since the fast and I feel that this juice fast was a great decision. I plan to keep eating well and exercising and hoping that I'll start to make progress once again on weight loss since 270lbs is still a long ways from what I consider healthy. The fast was the kick-start I was looking for.
I did a gallon a day, and lots of water. I don't know if I noted it, but the less water I drank, the less weight I lost. I also did about 98% veggies. I never added Bolthouse, or any of the other store bought juices to the daily regime. Even after I started eating steak, or chicken for a small snack at dinner, I still lost an average of a pound a day. I stayed away from sugars as much as I could, I never "peaked", and neither did any of my friends who followed the same stringent plan. Also, when I switched to the meat at dinner, that was literally it, no extra seasoning, no butter, nothing on the meat except fresh picked spices, then it went on the grill. There could easily be ups and downs on this fast as the weight loss is directly and immediately related to the natural energy your body uses, and the active energy your body will use day to day. Even something like sex will change what you lose, walking to the store ect.
Day 6 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 269.4
Previous Weight: 270.6
Lost since yesterday: 1.2
Total Weight lost: 21.4
Most Weight lost: 23.4
Lowest Weight: 267.4
Gained since fast: 2.0
Surprised to see that I was down 1.2lbs today when I got on the scale. Yesterday wasn't the best day diet-wise and exercise-wise but I still managed to lose 1.2lbs somehow. Yesterday was the first day I didn't walk the dogs and didn't mow or do anything physical other than move a couple pieces of furniture upstairs and what not. I also went to Smashburger last night for dinner and had the big Baja burger, no bun and no cheese. We also shared a side of fried chilis and I was dipping them in ranch a little bit too even. Had water to drink of course. Heck, I even gave in to hunger and had a couple of handfuls of popcorn a couple of hours later. So, if anything I was anticipating not losing weight or even gaining another half pound. One thing that was positive was I juiced up some veggies and fruits again (first time since I ended the juice fast) and replaced breakfast with juice and also sipped it here and there throughout the day. It seems as though what I was going to gain back through muscle atrophy during my juice fast has pretty much come back. I'm hoping this means I will continue to lose fat as a result of my new diet and lifestyle. It feels good to be back into the 260's again w/o a juice fast.
Just in from the weekly vege run to Costco and happened to read the nutritional fact chart on the back of a 10# bag of carrots.... a single 7" carrot apparently has 3% of my daily sodium needs and 2% of my daily carb needs. Based on how many carrots it takes to make juice, that's a whole lot of sodium & carbs!
End of day 6 check in:
starting weight: 215.4
Current weight: 206.8
Difference: 8.6
Day 18
Starting Weight: 293.5
Previous Weight: 274.8
Current Weight: 274.0
I'm half a pound from 20 and am planning on keeping this up for another week and a half. Still feel great and I'm starting to tell people at work why I always have this green juice with me and how it's helped in the past 3 weeks. They all find it hard to believe that I haven't eaten anything in that time period.
Day 7 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 268.8
Previous Weight: 269.4
Lost since yesterday: 0.6
Total Weight lost: 22.0
Most Weight lost: 23.4
Lowest Weight: 267.4
Gained since fast: 1.4
Lost just over another half pound which was good since I met a buddy at Dickey's yesterday for lunch. I must say though that the meal I ate was substantially different than it would have been before the fast. My two sides were the potatoes & green beans, nothing fried. I only had like two bites of the potatoes and some of the green beans. I didn't eat the bread which was difficult since the bread they include is incredible. I also had non-sweat tea with a splash of sweet in it and normally I would get full sweat tea and the non-sweat tea tasted like crap before. This time it was just fine. I used probably half of the BBQ sauce that I would normally use and when it was all over I resisted temptation to have some of the free ice cream they offer. I was stuffed with less meat than I normally eat too. So, like I said, not one of the most sensible meals I could have eaten but I knew this would happen from time to time and I was smart about how I went about it and that's better than how I handled things before. If I can keep losing a half a pound per day eating like this I would be more than happy. It's not the few pounds per day I was getting with the juice fast but I'm also eating again and eating things I enjoy eating so this is a path I'm happy to keep up. I didn't exercise too much yesterday so I imagine that trend should continue when I'm able to add in even more exercise since it's been a couple of days since I exercised. I'm now only 1.4lbs away from my lowest weight while I was on the juice fast.
Day 20
Starting Weight: 293.5
Previous Weight: 272.3
Current Weight: 269.9
I moved my mom out of a 2 bedroom apartment into our house yesterday. It kicked my ass but I also lost 2.4lbs. I'm planning on another week of this.
Nice man. Keep it up!
I forgot to post my Day 8 update so here's that along with the update for today:

As you can see I'm VERY close to getting back to the lowest weight I was at when I quit the juice fast. My gains today weren't the best but I know why. I had an open house to go do yesterday afternoon and I had a couple of beers & a burger patty & piece of bacon. This was in addition to my lunch & dinner which were both a fraction of what I would have normally eaten prior tot he juice fast but even though I did a couple hours of exercise yesterday morning (mowing a couple yards) it still didn't offset the crappy eating. I knew this was likely what was going to happen but it's going to happen from time to time. Just glad I didn't gain anything and I'm hoping to be down again tomorrow. Who knows, I might wake up to being the lowest weight than I've been in years if I lose 0.3lbs or more.
Bless me Father, for I have sinned.....
I fell off the wagon, sumbitch ran over me with all 4 wheels, and the horse kicked me too!
Wife had to have some friends over, and she had me smoke two pork butts/shoulders. I spend all day smoking 14lbs of meat, it turns out the best I've ever made, plus all the other fixin's, you damn right I'm diggin' in! So, a couple pounds came back on, gotta start the juicing up again Monday. Damn that 'Q was good.....
Day 9 Check in:
Starting weight: 215.4
Current Weight: 204.0
Difference: -11.4
Day 21
Starting Weight: 293.5
Previous Weight: 269.9
Current Weight: 269.1
I spent 8 hours Saturday moving furniture and boxes. I thought that this would leave me sore for a few days but I felt fine yesterday and even better today. I'm really surprised I recovered so quickly considering how sedentary my life normally is.
Day 22
Starting Weight: 293.5
Previous Weight: 269.1
Current Weight: 270.7
I gained 1.6 lbs. I didn't drink enough water yesterday but I don't see that warranting a gain like that. I had a few dreams about cheating last night. The other variable is the scale. I'm going to pop some new batteries in it and see if that might be a problem.
The water makes more of a difference than you would think. Hell, when I pee it's usually good for 0.4lbs or so that's why I peed before I weighed myself. Helps to rule out variables. So if you don't drink enough water your body will hold onto more water to prevent dehydration and it won't be able to carry the leftovers from burning the fat off as easily. Taking all that into account you can see how not getting enough water can cause a gain that seems significant but for someone our size really isn't. That's why I've been preaching the necessity to drink water and if you think you've drank enough, drink a little bit more.
I'm with you Jer. I'm about 80oz down today already. I got by this weekend because of the physical activity but the lack of water yesterday screwed me.
Anybody tried a colon cleanse with this? Been thinking about it.....
No but a buddy of mine that did his first juice fast a couple of years ago and then hung onto that lifestyle pretty good swears by these but I never tried them.
Fell off the wagon but it tasted oh so good. (Still holding in the upper 2 teens)

Quick update - I'm 8lb down since I stopped juice diet and started to eat better food...
I'm down to 267.7 and my last fasting day will be Saturday.
I started juicing only for dinner on 7/29-30... 7/31 was my first entire day and man was it tough. Not only did i start juicing but i also quit soda! That is my kryptonite, i can quit smoking cold turkey but soda... FU!
Today will be me 2nd entire day, i feel ok. Still fucking crave a nice burger or a large bowl of pho!
Start 261.x (was taken on 7/29 when i started dinner juicing only)
Today 253.4
Keep it up kwando. It's well worth it.
Day 9 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 267.6
Previous Weight: 268.8
Lost since yesterday: 1.2
Total Weight lost: 23.2
Most Weight lost: 23.4
Lowest Weight: 267.4
Gained since fast: 0.2
Getting closer to the weight I was when I ended the fast. I had a few days of higher sodium eating than I would like and my weight reflected that by fluctuating a pound here and there. Should be able to get back in track better and hopefully will start to see a steady decrease once again.
After the first three days, I found the craving for solid food had pretty much disappeared, but those first couple of days were tough, especially around 6pm. Each time I was hungry I just had another pint of juice. I also found that a high percentage of fruit in the juice made it far less filling, whereas a primarily vegetable based juice did better at keeping me 'full'. Granted, I've only been at this for 16 days now (aiming for 30 total).
For me the toughest was day 4...
I gained another pound... Tons of water yesterday, normal amount of juice, didn't eat a thing. Today's my last day.
Day 10 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 266.6
Previous Weight: 267.6
Lost since yesterday: 1.0
Total Weight lost: 24.2
Most Weight lost: 24.2
Lowest Weight: 266.6
Lost since fast: 0.8
Today is a good day for me for the simple fact that you'll notice that my Total Wight Lost & Most Weight Lost columns have the same number. My Lowest weight is also me weight today. This is good because it means I'm officially at my lowest weight since I started the juice fast. Yesterday I was only 0.2 above my lowest weight so losing that full pound put me well past my previous low mark. It also means I was able to change the 'Gained since fast' column to 'lost since fast' which is a good feeling. It feels good to be able to eat food now and do so in a manner that I'm still losing weight. Here's to hoping that I get to 25lbs lost by tomorrow & maybe I can crack into the 250's by next weekend! Nice round numbers that are just around the corner.
I heard a lot of people saying that so I was bracing for the worst but I think mine peak was somewhere around day 2 maybe because while I kept expecting it to get worse it slowly improved.
Good deal man. Remember, this is just the beginning. The idea is to break your habits and mindset that got you to this point to begin with. If you do the things I mentioned earlier you will still see the weight come off: No pop, no dairy products, no breads or grains, avoid sugar as much as possible, don't eat late & when you do eat make sure your portions stay small. On top of that.... keep on juicin'! Drink juice throughout the day and even replace meals with it from time to time. I can tell you that before the fast, even though I ended up 'only' doing 3 weeks, there's no way I could have changed my lifestyle the way I have. All the weight I've lost since is attributed to said lifestyle too.
I am still reading through this, but you guys really do liquid diets for a month at a time?
My biggest concerns would be trying to balance the family's eating while I did this.
The cost of this?
And my work, it is pretty physical, no set lunch break and no refrigerator.
This would be tough for someone with a normal job. The juices require a LOT of vegetables to make a decent quantity, and the machine has to be cleaned up immediately or you'll regret it. The juice needs to be drank soon also or the nutrients get lost or degrade, it's not really something you could make up a day's worth at once.
I don't know about the store-bought stuff Jer was using. But the homemade stuff takes a lot of produce and cleanup work.
Not trying to scare you off, just offering insight. You might make it work, and if you have a physical job burning lots of calories you may see great results. You may also see good results by simply changing what you eat now. Most "food" we love is bad for us anyway, in all reality. It's designed to make someone money rather than make people healthy.
I wanted to ask if there was a juicer that was decided as being the best. I read the first several pages and notice the HB Big Mouth seemed to be liked. I also noticed someone liked the Breville. I am thinking of getting the Breville Juice Fountain Plus but wanted to check here first.
Congrats Jer!!! Been thinking of doing one of the juice diets too. keep going buddy
I'll be going loose paleo after this with some dairy, the occasional couple of beers, etc. I'll also be juicing one or two meals a day.
I honestly think that sticking to the juice fast has been easier than eating right will be.
