Day 15
Starting Weight: 293.5
Previous Weight: 277.2
Current Weight: 276.9
I'm tempted to get to 20lbs lost and move back to keto. The slow losses are demoralizing but I do feel great otherwise.

Day 5 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 270.6
Previous Weight: 270.6
Lost since yesterday: 0.0
Total Weight lost: 20.2
Most Weight lost: 23.4
Lowest Weight: 267.4
Gained since fast: 3.2
Thought I would post an update as to how things have gone since I ended the fast. In the 5 days since I've ended the fast I've gained 3.2lbs which I feel is good weight (muscle lost through atrophy) because even though I've gained 3.2lbs my belt has gotten a little bit looser. I've been walking and doing more active things here and there and have been watching what I eat. The last part is actually quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. My stomach has shrunk so it makes it easier to control portions and since about week 2 of the juice fast I haven't had any of the cravings that I once had. I've been eating better food, no breads/grains or dairy, no pop and have avoided most of the sugar that I once ate. I used to drink sweet tea and that even sounds too sweet right to me right now. Last night I had dinner at BJ's in Fort Collins with the in-laws & finally had the steak I had been craving and a side of steamed veggies. I only ate half of everything and was stuffed making it easy to box the rest up. There's no doubt that before the fast I would have eaten my meal (probably something fried) with less healthy sides, pop, some of the other's food that they didn't eat and probably a bunch of bread. As it was this was what I consider a large meal compared to what I've been eating since the fast and it was still less than 1/4 the calories I would have normally eaten at this meal plus healthier food. I haven't drank much juice since the fast but I think that's just because I had done nothing but juice for nearly 3 weeks and my body was craving real food. I'm sure I'll start mixing it back in shortly and plan to juice up some veggies today in fact. In all, I've lost over 20lbs even after recovering some muscle since the fast and I feel that this juice fast was a great decision. I plan to keep eating well and exercising and hoping that I'll start to make progress once again on weight loss since 270lbs is still a long ways from what I consider healthy. The fast was the kick-start I was looking for.

I did a gallon a day, and lots of water. I don't know if I noted it, but the less water I drank, the less weight I lost. I also did about 98% veggies. I never added Bolthouse, or any of the other store bought juices to the daily regime. Even after I started eating steak, or chicken for a small snack at dinner, I still lost an average of a pound a day. I stayed away from sugars as much as I could, I never "peaked", and neither did any of my friends who followed the same stringent plan. Also, when I switched to the meat at dinner, that was literally it, no extra seasoning, no butter, nothing on the meat except fresh picked spices, then it went on the grill. There could easily be ups and downs on this fast as the weight loss is directly and immediately related to the natural energy your body uses, and the active energy your body will use day to day. Even something like sex will change what you lose, walking to the store ect.

Day 6 since breaking the juice fast check-in:
Starting Weight: 290.8
Current Weight: 269.4
Previous Weight: 270.6
Lost since yesterday: 1.2
Total Weight lost: 21.4
Most Weight lost: 23.4
Lowest Weight: 267.4
Gained since fast: 2.0
Surprised to see that I was down 1.2lbs today when I got on the scale. Yesterday wasn't the best day diet-wise and exercise-wise but I still managed to lose 1.2lbs somehow. Yesterday was the first day I didn't walk the dogs and didn't mow or do anything physical other than move a couple pieces of furniture upstairs and what not. I also went to Smashburger last night for dinner and had the big Baja burger, no bun and no cheese. We also shared a side of fried chilis and I was dipping them in ranch a little bit too even. Had water to drink of course. Heck, I even gave in to hunger and had a couple of handfuls of popcorn a couple of hours later. So, if anything I was anticipating not losing weight or even gaining another half pound. One thing that was positive was I juiced up some veggies and fruits again (first time since I ended the juice fast) and replaced breakfast with juice and also sipped it here and there throughout the day. It seems as though what I was going to gain back through muscle atrophy during my juice fast has pretty much come back. I'm hoping this means I will continue to lose fat as a result of my new diet and lifestyle. It feels good to be back into the 260's again w/o a juice fast.

Just in from the weekly vege run to Costco and happened to read the nutritional fact chart on the back of a 10# bag of carrots.... a single 7" carrot apparently has 3% of my daily sodium needs and 2% of my daily carb needs. Based on how many carrots it takes to make juice, that's a whole lot of sodium & carbs!
End of day 6 check in:

Current weight: 206.8
Difference: 8.6
