BTW, where is nynco?
Yup. I'm self employed, and there's no way I can afford even the cheapest Obamacare plan for $500/month for my wife and I with sky high deductibles. So come tax time I'll be punished because I can't afford it, and because I don't have enough money I'm required to pay the IRS money. The whole thing is so stupid. Steal money from those who work so that those who don't work can have nice things.
Too Late. Why is this person even speaking ? Ocare should have been a mid to late 2015 discussion, not out of the gate. The D's are already on I TOLD YOU SO mode STFU, move these bills that Reid supposedly would not and go from there.
http://news.yahoo.com/speaker-boehne...-business.html
After more than 50 failed attempts to repeal or neutralize Obamacare, Boehner said the House would vote again in 2015 to scuttle the law, even if Democrats can still block it in the Senate and it faces a certain veto from Obama.
Though I agree with most of what is posted, here's a couple of points regarding Christian judgment and consent:
Christians are commanded to judge:
This link explains it better than I:
http://www.letusreason.org/Pent44.htm
Quote:
John 7:24 Jesus says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” What Jesus does tell us is not to judge by our own opinions, but instead judge by the word of God, that is what it means to judge righteously. He always encouraged the people to judge. God told Israel to judge the prophets in the Old Testament. He had the true prophets judge the false but the people reacted saying the very same things people are saying today. Your being negative oh you never have anything good to say. In the New Testament we are told to judge prophecy, to discern, to test the spirits and we are told to test ALL things. We are told to do this because it helps keep us away from what is false and evil. The apostle Paul showed us how to judge so there would be no second guesswork. The apostle Paul said, “If anyone preaches another gospel let him be accursed” Would anyone say to Paul's face “your judging.” In 2 Thess. 3:14-15 “And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” Strong guidelines that many avoid to do today. These are done not to condemn but to bring repentance and restoration."
Paul reminds us that not only the sinner, but also anyone who consents to the sin is worthy of death.
Quote:
Romans 1:32 (DRA)
Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.
Unfortunately, the Rs have been speaking much more about "fixing" OCare than they have repealing it.
I suspect the same will happen with immigration. Obama will do something huge/drastic in regards to open immigration and the Rs will later scale it back, but not repeal it.
The Rs figure the citizens will like them for pulling back on the reigns.
I don't see any way the Rs are going to give up the governmental power that is inherent to OCare - once they are in charge of it.
I'm afraid this will ultimately lead to the end. Even if there are more consumers than producers, the government can print more money without telling anyone to support the consumers and it'll be okay until the cat gets out of the bag and all the producers are bankrupted and robbed blind by the very government they support.
Is the election over yet? [Sofa]
So I'm really struggling to find good information here. Election night/morning it said the Republicans definitely took the state Senate and it was possible they might take the house too. Now the house is definitely still democratic, and it's down to one seat and a couple hundred seats in adams county, that won't be finished counting for a couple more days. Is that really where we stand or am I reading this wrong...?
9news just posted that the Republicans conceded that Dems keep the house. Senate still being counted.
http://www.9news.com/story/news/poli...edes/18661197/
Actually it does. I have seen a Republican party tone-deafly thump it's chest and "stick to its guns" straight into irrelevancy. Demographics in CA shifted over the past 30 years but the Republicans did not tailor their message to the new trends, and now Republicans are effectively meaningless in the legislative process. I guess it's better to stick to a pure ideology rather than win, right? Just like the election-spoiling Libertarians?
Recalls? Coloradans just had their chance to oust Hickenlooper and failed. John Morse's seat got filled by one of Bloomberg's anti-gun staffers for crying out loud. I see that recall worked out super well. Maybe more effort should be put into developing better candidates that will win given the local environment.
I would also add something about getting better R turnout but the whole mail in ballot thing is really vexing. Here in CA mail-in ballots are rejected at an unacceptably high rate. If the same is true in CO maybe strategies to rectify that or work around it should be developed, like dropping them off in person, or getting a printout of DMV signature to ensure the one on your ballot will match.
NEW TRENDS IN CA? Like Amnesty for illegals, medicaid, anchor babies, higher taxes, ban on lead ammo, ASSAULT weapon ban NO CCW OR open carry,10 day wait before bringing home a gun. CADOJ APPROVED FIREARMS. . YEAH THAT'S TAILORING A MESSAGE. TO LIBERALS.
You sound like the typical west or east coaster who moved to CO for a better lifestyle. PROVIDING we changes our laws to meet your way of life in the place you moved from. Should we hold hands embracing our ILLEGAL Brothers and Sisters in the name of Diversity. [facepalm]
WELL if you were knowledgeable about Morse's constituency . Even booted out the people still can vote in the general election cyc;le. Morse's area has a vast D voting block than R's. The recall election was considered by the Left and major R's to be a joke, no one EXCEPT gun owners took seriously. The Gun owner turned out en mass to kick his kiester to the pavement. The mid-term had everyone turn out ,getting that predominant D district the ability to vote another D to office.
Spare me the condescension; I am not in favor of any of those policies. I'm just pointing out that in a Republican wave election, CO did not get much redder, especially from a gun rights point of view. My suggestion, from someone who has seen where this road leads, is to figure out why or learn to enjoy CA-style BS, all of what you listed above and more. If you'd rather piss on the messenger because I'm not licking your ***, that's your perogative. Engaging in unrealistic groupthink does not further the cause.
So are you in favor of recalls or aren't you? Can't have it both ways... BTW what do you think is going to happen in the next presidental election, when turnout is traditionally higher for Dems? How are your recall candidates going to fare then?

I guess the fact that I'm from CA means that I have a persona non grata hole to dig myself out of. I get it; nobody wants to be told how to run their own affaris. I apologize if that's how I came off. Yes I want to move to CO for a better quality of life: so sue me. But I do not want to bring CA with me; I sincerely want to do anything I can to help turn CO red again. I donated to the recalls last year and I donated to Beauprez and Gardner this year. Yes, I do not really know what makes Colorado, so if something I say is bull**** call me out and tell me why. I enjoy honest debates, and I am not afraid to learn or change my views. My only request is to keep the comments focused on the issues, because ultimately that's what matters. Calling me a libtard carpetbagger does nothing.

Calling me a libtard carpetbagger does nothing.
Anyone actually say that in their response or you throwing shit out there? It takes more than 1 to play nice. Using words no one said is not the way the game's played.
I put Mister CA on ignore stop quoting him, please................
Where are so many people getting this ridiculous idea that republicans did poorly in Colorado in this election?
Open US Senate seat held by democrat: Republican
Colorado AG: Republican
Colorado SoS: Republican
Colorado Treasurer: Republican
Sheriffs: All but two (of the open sheriff seats that I can find) Republican
CO House: missed taking control by one seat. That means republicans picked up several house seats.
CO Senate: Still undecided but looks like republicans will take it.
The governor held on by less than 3%. That's the only real loss by republicans. EVERYWHERE else they either won or gained ground on democrats. How anyone can see this as short of amazing given the trend in Colorado over the last decade is just baffling.
If everything remained the same with the exception of Beauprez beating Hickenlooper this would be described as a complete republican victory.
