Went to the motorcycle expo a few weeks back.
Some cool new bikes out there, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Harley had good showings. Other players, BMW, KTM, and a few others were notably absent.
Harley had a new concept bike, an adventure touring bike, looked cool, but still waaaaaaaaaaaaay behind the curve of other bikes.
It was interesting to note, comparing bikes (engine sizes) the Harley Davidson's were anywhere from 150 to 300 lbs. heavier across the board. HD cruisers were ~1000-lbs., dry.
[ROFL1] All I can think of is the shitty day they'll have if they're anything like me. First 50 miles, I pulled up to a stop sign and put my foot out.... and my foot found nothing but air (there was a ditch on that side of the road). An entire subway restaurant got to spectate as I struggled to get 550 lbs back up. Big harley, faghettaboutit. Tow truck just to pick it up [ROFL1]
It's all about technique. There's videos of hundred pound women picking up Harleys.
Picked this fun ride up a couple weeks ago. 2019 Softail Slim, had 55 miles on it lol. Made some subtle changes and loving it. The M8 motor is quite torquey, plenty of pull. The redesigned chassis in '18 makes it amazingly nimble-yeah funny word to use regarding a Harley [LOL] I only have 360 miles on it now. Looking to getting past the 500 mile breakin but with the craziness and the weather that might take longer than I planned.

Thanks, this one is a hoot to ride, not doing touring anymore so I like something fun to bomb around for day rdes. I have a swing arm bag on the left side that holds just enough for being out all day. That 5 gallon tank gives me good range too. The redesigned chassis added lean angle too so it's real fun in the twisties for a big heavy bike.
Some of my friends say I change bikes like others change socks lol. This is the only one, sold the Roadster I had-which I loved customizing and riding but the ride was just too rough for my old body. Plus with it's (relative) speed and tight handling I could see myself getting in to some trouble if I didn't watch it haha. This new one is just tons of fun and I prefer more minimal bikes these days.
Just picked this 2011 70? Husaberg fe 570 S up from a friend. It?s been a dream bike of mine for a while. I?m excited about working on setting up to my liking.

It looks springy :)

Right now I?m intending to set it up as a lightweight Adventure bike. Great thing about this one is it is titled and plated.

Personally, I hate adventure bikes. It's like a Crossover Car, not good at anything.

in the process of putting together a motard. looking at a 250 to convert. I will post pictures once I start the process.
Finally got my CRF "temp" plated, been riding it around here and there. Would like to get a top rack for the rear fender so I can put a smallish pelican on top to store a couple things.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8207d59b3d.jpg

Nice! Just watch out for all the old blind Tucson drivers!! The guy that hit me in college was blind in his left eye, pulled out right into me, thankfully both of us were going slow, no injuries.
Kid wants to restore the DX50. Ordered a new needle, bowl gasket, petcok. Fuel must be leaking past the old cok and fouling the carb. If that works out we will get the girl painted and restod.
Me I am in full MadMax mode...[Coffee]
I love it. :)

FYI... my bikes are still in the garage covered in dust. Haven?t had them out yet this year.
The supermoto got parked due for service and I typically service both of the Harleys at the beginning of each riding season regardless of miles. Looks like I?ll be busy soon changing fluids and filters and adjusting belts and chains and what not.
Probably ought to go ahead and put tires on my Road King just to be safe.
Thanks for that Hurley! I think it was pretty douchebag thing for him to say. Responding to his bullshit would have just encouraged him so I let it be...
And BTW, I just re-installed the 17? SM wheels on my DRZ SM. I?m looking to do some social distancing via moto during this whole thing...

Bike wash day!

Washed and waxed.
The supermoto is due to be serviced so it will likely stay in the garage until the apocalypse is over.
The Harleys are good to go should the wife and I decide that tomorrow is a good day to put a little social distance between us and the front range.

Hurley - https://cycleracks.com/products/honda-crf250l-rear-rack
I personally recommend doing the flat version w/o hump. I've had both versions and flat is where it's at, since it's more versatile.
I used U-bolts to attach my rear case on the TW200.

What hump are you guys talking about? Handlebars?
CS1983, do you still have your bike? I need someone to take me trail riding some time.
Erni - hitch mounted carrier: https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-MX-H.../dp/B0039L7SFW
It or the “moto jack rack” are good to go.
Irving - on the rear of the rear rack, one can get one with a “hump” at the rear or flat.
I do still have the bike.
Copy. When things return to normal, maybe you can show me how to ride some trails.
