Hate thieves!!
And why haven't you used google device manager (or another anti-theft program) to lock that phone down?
This was almost 20 years ago. $300 was a lot money back then which is why we were certain the law would have been involved.
Bottom line is that restaurant management expects this behavior and tolerates it (to a certain degree) in exchange for low labor costs. Now had the restaurant suffered the loss, that might be different.
I could tell other stories....
- The bartender that clipped (marked) his bank so he could avoid ringing cash sales and still balance. He had stolen thousands (cops were called on that).
- Shift manager caught comp'ing guest checks after guests paid in cash
- Night cleaners that would replace alcohol with water
- Hotel I worked at where housekeeping was constantly stealing from guests and the hotel
- Same hotel were a maintenance engineer had his friend come break into guest cars in the parking lot when he saw something worth stealing (nearly got ran over that time)
This was the stuff I found out about/saw and most people knew not to let me know because I wouldn't let it continue.
If you've never worked in the service industry, it's an eye-opener.
LOL taking selfies on stolen phone.
Is the phone GPS enabled? After you contact the police department to file the theft report, if you are unable to locate the phone, ask your carrier to locate the phone. They can and will if the police ask them to, otherwise the cell phone company will just shut off service to the phone.
Lol what an idiot. Thank god for stupid criminals. I'd love to see the look on her face when she realizes she's flat busted...
