That's where I believe the judgement comes into play, in that if you aren't comfortable in keeping that line intact regardless of condition, then as a responsible person you're making a conscious choice to avoid placing youself into that situation amd you just don't carry while drinking... I know that for myself, my problem-avoidance intent has gone way up since I started carrying in public, and even when drinking and someone pisses me off (still very likely to happen), my reactions are tempered and there would be no thought of drawing down for anything less than a true self defense situation (e.g. not going to shoot someone for grabbing my girl's ass in a bar, though I may be tempted to loosen up some teeth)...
