Well doctors what are you going to do about this? Anywhere from 44,000 to 90,000 per year die from malpractice in the United States. Some statistics say that number is 6 times higher. Either way sounds like doctors kill more people than people with fire arms do.

That statement is just as ignorant as saying "Know there are some good gun owners, but man you have to look". I find far more competent docs in my daily interactions than incompetent ones, and I deal with a lot. Sure, there are morons, but they are, by far, the minority. I'm not a physician. I'm a PA, and I practice emergency medicine. I don't have a doctorate degree, but I do have a Master of Medical Science degree. And I shoot. And I shoot with some of the docs I work with. One of them is in Afghanistan right now, serving our country. When you make such skewed statements that are so out of proportion to the truth, you come off sounding as unreasonable and incredible as the libs who claim that simply owning guns makes you a threat. I agree with and support the intent behind your post. And by no means do I support the idiot doc group who wants to demonize firearms; they're absolute morons. I was just pointing out that since it's absurd when libs say that all gun owners are idiots based in the actions of a few, it's just as dumb for us to say that all healthcare practitioners are idiots, also based on the actions of a few. Good point but that's why people got to hold the line. I may not like same sex intercorse, sodomy, and abortion however they have all been held up as a right. Each one can negatively affect society in my view. People supporting those areas stand their ground so we have to do the same. No compromises, do it in an intelligent and rational manner. Personally I hope the liberal media continues to fail financially that is the central nervous system of the people trying to take our rights away. They won't promote our side and if they win here they won't be happy until were all banished to some camp where the key has been thrown away. It's no accident that the media to pushing this agenda a couple months before the election. It's a convient distraction from issues dealing with the economy, turmoil in the middle east, and a nation that has become quite divided in the last three years. Heck you would not even know that we have people fighting in Afghanistan. We sure heard about when Bush was in charge. When I say turmoil in the middle east, we hear very little about what Iran is saying and doing or how Israel is about to take action in its defense. What about gas prices and food prices, its endless. Crazy in a Republican presidents term these would all shrill items for the media.Quote:

No, brother, not looking for a pissing contest. I am not maligning your experience. Nor am I trying to judge/jury/execute your opinion about the docs you've dealt with. I am, however, pointing out that it is a mistake to extrapolate that limited exposure to the near entirety of all docs, just like its wrong for an ignorant doc to extrapolate his limited experience with firearms to all gun owners. I can tell by the emotion in your response that I hurt your feelings. I apologize, not my intent.
