I think get togethers like this are a great idea (something that would be great for the non-shooting public to see). You guys do things like this near the Springs?
Ummm, yes. The place that it will be at is maybe 10 miles north of Woodland Park on 67.
Maybe 2 miles north of Rainbow Falls CG.
Sweet. Based on an earlier post I thought it was up to the SE of Denver. I may have to put this on the calendar!

Got the weekend off of work, starting go get the gear all lined up and ready to go.
I got one as well. just changed out the bulbs for the LED's in the camper. Put the panels in it. Need to pick up some gas. I loaned it out and it is all gone. I will have a table to put stuff on. I also will bring another stove.Quote:

How long of a distance is the South Site, in terms of shooting? Can I sight my hunting rifle in at 200 yards there? Also, i'm assuming this is south of the FS Shooting closure, hard to tell on the map.

If you face west, you might be able to get that. Or you might have to go around the hill..

Also, If you have a 4X4 there are lanes that are 200-300 yards that one could show you. they are on the trail from the normal site going S.
How big/small a 4x4?

It is some sharp up and down. No brush or bad things but not something that I would try with 4" of ground clearance. If you can make it in the front road (that I have done with my TA) the other is fine.Quote:

Ground clearance is OK. 2500 RAM diesel with slightly larger AT tires, but it's so long, the breakover usually gets me. It's my tow vehicle so I wouldn't want to tear it up like I often did with my previous lighter, shorter, smaller rigs.Quote:

as far as i know (told by ranger ) you can camp right there , but there is also a few pay site close by such as painted rocks , but they cost 17 dollars a night . ill be racking out in the jeep ,after all it is just one night . as far as phone service , i know my text works there, but the phone is spotty at best but i also have stupid cricket . Sat night. There will be enough food for everyone that is there. Please do not feel like the "pot luck" is only for the people that bring stuff. The main issue is that you are there.

I am thinking "build your own tacos" or BBQ sandwiches for sat night.
I have experience at this. The bottom line is just show up. If you bring something that is great. If you don't that is fine as well. If you do not show up by sat night you will miss something.

Last call for stuff gang. I have enough to do "taco night" for around 20-30 people. There will be hard/soft tacos (US kind) beans and real rice. If you want your own special sauce then you need to bring it. I will have coffee for sat-sun morning. So if your are coming and not sure what to bring taco chips, soda. I have plates/forks.
If anyone needs a stove or lantern or cot or whatever speak now. If someone wants to come sat and does not have the tent/gear etc it looks like I will have some space in the camper for a couple or 1 single. May have more room but the beds are taken friday night and I have offered up one bed to one member sat night. This of course includes breakfast sunday morning and lunch sunday afternoon. You will need to bring sleeping bag/blankets and your best pillow. [Coffee]
