Strong possibility given how things played out. Initially Podesta took the stage to say they were waiting until tomorrow to concede, then Hillary made the call to Trump. At ~1:30AM I thought they were leaving the door open for another 2000. But then conceded. I was surprised.
Also possible is that the transition is incredibly fragile and deals are being made to ensure things go smoothly. An honest investigation of Clinton would lead back to Obama.
But one thing I don't agree with is that Hillary (or Bill) have been removed from politics. Chelsea and her hedge-fund-failure husband have no other means to survive than through Clintonesque graft.
If you guys think Trump's really going after Hillary you're deluding yourself. Since the election he's flip-flopped more than any GOP candidate in recent history. Wouldn't be surprised if he turns a blind authoritarian, narcissistic eye towards 2A limitations too. As a reminder, strongmen don't like the populace having guns.
Bush let AWB '94 sunset. Dems had wanted a renewal.
When the Beltway Sniper hysteria hit, he and his admin made it about terrorism not guns.
The Roberts's Court gave us Heller and MacDonald. And while we still have that Court, Obama pressured the Court violating its autonomy.
I'm no Bush cheerleader but the difference on gun rights was significant compared to the last eight years.
No...congress let it sunset (as was written into the law). Bush said he'd sign a renewal/extension if one was sent to his desk.
And in answer to the "Republicans = Democrats"...I think that's just nonsense. For a lot of the same reasons Skip mentioned. Granted, republicans certainly have their issues. But they're generally a damn sight better than democrats. I would've taken 4 years of Romney over the last 4 years of Obama any day.
