Jim, you lost me at green.
Their living quarters are built at one end, single story and part protrudes from the larger structure. Then they have lite workshops with storage above buffering from large barn area and heavier shop.
I wouldn't stress about the welding Irving. If you don't do it every day with different thickness and heat/speeds....you're not going to be great at it.
If your weld area is clean and you have enough heat and wire speed for your task, it will be strong enough. Welding is an art, and I wish I were better at it myself....I just don't do it often enough.
Heya, Lobo !
Did drop off the t-case tonight, and the powder coating should be done tomorrow or Wednesday.
Didn't hear back from the driveline shop though.
Looking nice Jim

That barn roof requires a taller ladder than usual to get on. Now you'll have to access from the rake.
The pic looked good to me, good penetration it seemed.
When you get really confident about welding looking down at your work, you'll get pissed off when you try to weld up. It sucks with wire feed.
All of it is another skill to be happy about when you get it down and do it good. :)
Like everyone learning something new, I have fantasies of having some latent, untapped skill to develop. In reality, I just want to have serviceable welds so I can make more shit.
You very well may have that talent, and yes....it's nice to be able to make shit.
It's funny you guys are talking about a 'barndominium'. Was driving up from Florissant yesterday afternoon and I-25 was a mess. Decided to drive up Perry Park Road into Sedalia. Mentioned to the wife that I just saw a barn that had 2 satellite dishes on it. I had to wonder if they were renting rooms in the barn or something.
I think it is something that is increasing in popularity. I did a roof inspection on one a few years ago. That was a scary one because it needed a 40 ladder and I had to access from the rake. I'm sure I've posted a picture, but who knows if I can find it.
Here we go.

And from the top. Gable metal, so no where to bungy the ladder to keep it from sliding off at the slightest gust of wind. Oh the things we do for money.

*IF* I made it the top of the ladder, there's no way my body would let me transition to the roof. Nope. No chance, no way. Not gonna' happen.
Watch some vids. But also get some flat plate and practice welding them together. Butt, angle, vertical. Basic stuff that if practiced long enough become a passing thought. Then cut it in half to see how good or bad each weld penetrated.
You might consider a CC intro to welding class at night.
Most people can get onto the roof okay, it's the transition off that's difficult.
I've cut one practice piece, and even bought some Naval Jelly, but my prep wasn't good enough to see the weld nugget penetration. I can see where I have a tiny gap in the corner though, so know I can do better. I also need to make an extension cord with the proper plugs to use the 220.
I've watched some Welding Tips and Tricks on YouTube, but that was back when I had more time.
That's better, don't you think?
Googly eyes are an upgrade for many things.

(Note: In searching for googly eyes images, found some that were NSFW. I had no idea....)
BC has been rather quiet for a few days ... suppose a cabinet fell & trapped him in the archives?
Howdy.
Once again, friends from here were a tremendous help to me today.
It's awesome stuff. Thank you.
Hey, Irving.
Hello.
Lol, I looked, but it wasn?t anything that I need.
Since I've been out of the game a while and honestly haven't had any bites... anywhere... are my prices reasonable or are they too high? Dropped both down to $120 now.
I can?t help you on those items (I rarely buy or sell anything), but Kazoo probably can.
Sounds good, thanks. I'm just surprised at least that no one is interested in a brand new Larue mount for 2/3 the actual price...
