Mine started third grade this week. Today it was "I don't think I can remember". And my response was, "Well, I don't think you can play on the computer." That got me a full report!

Keep at it. Let her get comfortable with the new school schedule and she will open up more.

Try not to come across as a DI or CHP Patrolman. She will open up once she is settled in.
Offer her an incentive to talk more. Meaning, take her to a fun kids restaurant and talk ccandidly
with her and let her open up some then let her go play then when ah comes back ask some more
to get he to open up.

My 16 year and I are on good terms considering her age.
