Over 2 months since the law went into effect. No one who failed a background check has attacked me with a 15+ round magazine that was manufactured after 7/1/2013. Apparently the laws are working.

Indeed. I sleep much better these days knowing how much safer I am. I may just shred my concealed carry permit.
Just because.... My grandfather was one of those 10... Denied due to expired driver's license. Got it renewed... Got approved... Yeah, that law REALLY helped....
There's a 57% average reversal rate for appeals, so if every person appealed, that's 4 people denied.
So safe.
But even that option is skewed. A gun coming in from let's say Gunbroker, from a dealer is marked as a private sale. Only if it is sold from the local FFL, the one conducting the BGC is it marked as a Dealer sell.
So they count the actual Private sales along with the out of state transfers together.
OK, did anyone catch what the article says? The whole drive to get universal background checks was that 40% of all guns purchased were via private sales. The article states that "private sales are a small fraction of the total number of background checks for gun purchases. The CBI processed 19596 background checks in July, only 561 of them were private sales.. Where's the 40%?
DENVER (AP) - The first month of background checks on private firearm sales in Colorado resulted in 10 denials for people with criminal records.
Statistics posted online by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation show the denials were in July - the first month universal background checks took effect. A total of 561 people requested criminal background checks on private sales that month. The CBI data did not specify the reason for the denials.
The data is the most recent available.
Private sales are a small fraction of the total number of background checks for gun purchases. CBI processed a total of 19,596 background checks in July. The denial rate of just under 2 percent is similar to the denial rate for private sales.
Democrats passed universal background checks in response to mass shootings last year.
I cannot wait for this crap to be repealed [Bang] [headbang]
Not gonna hold my breath for that day. Unless there is something special in the CO constitution to block such things, and we would have heard about it by now, these are the new baseline for the antis to work from. The fee to CBI is the only one that could possibly go away, via using the federal system instead.
