I'm glad it's catching on. The rails are silly. Even with the rubble covers the 4 sided rails are rough.

I like it. Don't really care about the attachments though. I'm not one to put anything on a rifle. It's smooth, lightweight, and does it's job. If they come out with something lighter I'll move to that.
AS the local parts whore I have gone through plenty of different hand guard rail systems including 4 different Keymod rails and now an M-Lok rail. I have gotten rid of the keymod rails for many different reasons and from that perspective completely my own observation and opinion below.
KEYMOD and M Lok concept; love the idea of a "universal mounting platform" to replace 1911. The process has been slow to come to fruitfulness.
I would not directly relate KEYMOD or M LOK to being a "lightweight" Rail, over an old school quad rail yes, but there has been plenty of lightweight rails before KEYMOD ever hit the market. This is about the "universal mounting" concept.

For all that, I personally went to a Geissele SMR MK1 and am completely happy, wife will still have a keymod because the specific rail is the lowest weight and she aint very big and my Geissele is 14oz and hers is under 8oz. :)
