If even a fraction of this is true, I feel truly blessed that my 36 year carreer was not spent at a Dept. that would even begin to condone such actions.

I was curious about the use of "DC Post" as the journalistic source for the story. I thought that maybe the writer was referring to the Washington Post, which is the larger of the two regular papers in DC, the other being the more conservative Washington Times.
Here is a link to the DC Post story: http://dcpost.org/florida-law-office...ive-interview/
I have been unable to find anything about the editors/publishers of dcpost.org
I spent years in DC and have never heard of the publication before now.
There are bad people in every profession. This is especially bad when they are in public service and they have authority. If anything in that story is true, then I would assume at the very least, the DOJ will have a team of lawyers and investigators winging their way to sunny south Florida.
quoted for truth... two wrongs don't make a right, but 3 lefts do. Also, correlation does not equal causation.
I hope your case is going well, I have a couple people that may want to talk to you about that- but they're afraid of backlash on family members... so they'd like some level of protection... they WANT to help, but are scared.
I thought that was an odd "quotation" myself... never heard of them either.
There is evil everywhere, even disguising itself as righteous, pious or in positions of authority.
(yes, there is evil in churches... as long as they are run by humans, they are fallible- I've seen this myself, too (yes, it was in Fremont county [pileoshit]))

As was I but it seemed to me to be another clue about the falsity of the story. Bad as the Washington ComPost is, even they would be reluctant to run a story like this without iron-clad sourcing (unless it was hitting a major Republican candidate ...).
Neither had I. I'm guessing it's the source for those folks who think the ComPost is a right-wing rag. (Yes, there are people who think that, I've actually had to have dinner with them.)
I hope the actions (or non actions) of the DOJ don't have any influence on what you believe is true or not. The DOJ majorly unreliable and corrupt.
But yes I agree with you and most of the others, the source seem fishy. However, that's not to say a mainstream newspaper would be any more credible. Perhaps we all remember the UVA, Rolling Stone published rape story that MANY mainstream papers subsequently published as truth....just one example.
There are some in authority positions that abuse that. Some abuse it a little and some enough to ruin lives. That is a fact but I don't believe it's even close to a majority. The good far outnumber the bad. But the bad ones need to be dealt with swiftly and extremely harshly and that's what I think we don't see quite often enough. Punishments seem to be lacking in severity more often than not. Abuses cannot be tolerated at any level and the punishments need to start reflecting that stance in every case of abuse.
I take no position on the story because I don't have enough information to take a position.
I just know that the DOJ and just about every other government agency would love to have a team of lawyers and investigators winging their way to sunny south Florida in February, whether there is something to do or not.
It is a broken world. I try to enjoy the bits that don't suck, rather than stew over the filth and muck.
Be safe.
