What is it?

This came from an antique mall in Pueblo. One of my Captains that works at the steel mill thinks it may be a refractory conductor coupler. He thinks with the waxy feel of it, it is refractory compound that will hold up the 3700 degrees. If it is, I think I have a new gas forge.

It was in Pueblo, not Rocky Flats.

I'm hoping for magnesium. Just don't ignite it in the car.
