How dare you insult my Walther PPQ. I also have a P22, but I have no clue how you put Walther's Umarex/Arnsberg guns ahead of Walther's guns made in Ulm. There's really no comparison.

About the only "modern" update to the 1911 is to make it a double stack to compete with growth of the Tupperware guns. Everything else is options or accessories.
Drop the modern tag if want 1911. Lots of Al/Sc framed 1911's to keep weight down. Lots of required features will make search tougher.

I've owned a couple Vigils and they are outstanding values, not that a carry is in your wheelhouse, the standard versions are also excellent for ecd.
I'm partial to this one however, Colt Gunsite Government. Single side safety, beavertail, I added regular width grips. Very accurate and feeds everything I've tried in it. Current favorite hd round is the Winchester Ranger l.e. 230gr jhp standard velocity. The slide is at Novak right now getting an orange ringed tritium front and wide notch rear with tritium dots. Pics when I get it back, hopefully the end of this week or early next.
