I remember going to a couple of my dads clients spreads to treat their horses. Those spreads are now under 60' of water- Chatfield Resevoir.

We used to ride our bikes to the end of Bowles Avenue, lift the bikes over the fence and hike up over the Hogback and camp all weekend. Never locked the bikes and they were always there when we got back.
Colorado Rockies WERE here. Only there was no Dante Bichett or Larry Walker, more like Lanny MacDonald and Crazy George.
Flood of '65- we had close to 300 horses on 5 acres of land-people from Centennial Racetrack hauled them up to our place, we were on the high ground.
A drive to Parker was an adventure and I think I probably shot at the same sand bank previously mentioned at Arapahoe and Parker.
I can remember my dad saying that someday it would be solid houses from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. We thought he was nuts.

I can remeber Lakeside shoping center, then Lakeside Mall and and now Lakeside dirt lot. I worked across the street from Elitches for 9 years, left Denver for 10 years (lived in Walden for 7yrs and Montrose for 3) and when I came back to work at the same place, Elitches had moved at and housing and stores were in it's place.
The Doc who made most of the referred to "changes" down in Trinidad died a couple/few years ago and his replacement recently moved out to greener pastures (San Francisco)[Tooth]
Now anyone planning on going down to Trinidad for a little "change" can just forget about it or make a little trek out to San Fran.
