The camera is picking up more light than the eye. In person the focus point of the LED is almost exactly the same size as the standard bulb on the left.

The nicer bars you can switch between driving lights and floods and not have them both on at the same time like in my cheapy one. One of my buddies has his wired in such a manner as the light bar can be turned on independently of the headlights like normal, but it also automatically kicks on anytime the headlights are switched to brights.
I definitely wouldn't need anything too fancy, as it would be used for off highway purposes only, mainly for potential nighttime trail runs, or seeing around the campsite at night, etc.Quote:
