Now that I can agree with you on...one of my biggest pet peeves is people being inconsistent in their beliefs. It shows a lack of critical thinking (and a lack of thought about the subject in general).

For instance, the Pew Research Center found that 43 percent of 18-29 year olds had a positive reaction to the word socialism, compared to 33 percent of 30-49 year olds, 23 percent of 50-64 year olds, and 14% of 65+. I'm actually within that age group- so no, I'm not an old fogey (or whatever), I actually did use that moniker in stating that we are in trouble. I'm not generalizing, or even painting my generation with broad strokes, I'm using reason and logic based on my personal experience (ya know, growing up and living among those my age) and I have deduced that a very large (and very vocal and politically active) number of folks in the "millennial" age group are two shades away from either insanely stupid, or maniacally evil- not in the Disney villain evil, more in the Stalin or Mao type socialist and intolerant evil. Many of these younger generation (that by most definitions ranges from 21 to 32 or so) are the very same that helped to get Obama elected, twice, and began the bewildering and completely unguided "Occupy" movement. In fact, along side that article, the Occupy movement explains many (again, not all, probably not most, but a big number of) millennials perfectly- "why are you here? What are you protesting?" "Man, we're here because well, ya know, man, shit! We're pissed off at something!"

THIS! I'm kinda frightened that so many that aren't completely ashamed to be so goddamned clueless about almost everything. Talk to many college kids about big issues, be it taxes, immigration, welfare or even oil production and they make your head spin with how many CNN talking points they quote, but cite almost nothing based on actual fact.

I see this all the time, and it bugs the shit out of me....no desire whatsoever to really learn something, at most just rote memorization of itema needed to pass exam/earn degree, along with an arrogance that they are the fountain of knowlwdge amd wisdom....this is almost always paired with a complete lack of ability for critical thinking or abstract thought, without which any knowledge they do have is useless as they have no mechanism to manage context and application of said knowledge.......ignorance can be fixed, stupid not so much (and stupid comes in many flavors)....

Also, in my experience, beyond a certain point age is largely irrelevant regarding cognitive ability and communication/presentation skills.....

Living in 135 square feet would be okay. At least, if that 135-square-foot crapshack was in the middle of a few hundred acres with signs saying "Centrarchidae's Private Hunting Preserve." I could dig that.
