Internet Explorer 9 DOESN'T Work Here

I upgraded the wife's PC to IE9 and I noticed today that I could not post to the site when using IE9. I can at a title to a post or PM , but the message box is grayed out. I can type in the message box, but when I push submit no text registers with the site and I get an error. I'm writing this on my PC with IE7 and it works fine. Has anyone else had a problem?

Click the little square box next to the refresh button. Its the box that looks like a peice of paper ripped in half.

That is called a compatability button. I clicked on that and all is working fine now.
I don't know much about computers and I wish I hadn't downloaded IE9 but I'm afaid I'll screw things up if I try to get rid of it.
