I picked up the habit of running with my lights on from driving a semi. You would think with a giant Omaha orange semi, you would be seen in the day. Naaw, not at all. As a result, I run my headlights on nearly anytime I'm driving, day, night, twilight, fog, any time. Even if everyone runs their headlights on, the lights are bright enough to grab your attention, even in the day. It's good safety practice, and I think if one did the research, people who do this have reduced, if not greatly reduced incidents of wrecks from other drivers hitting them.
