They never actually sent me anything that said that they sent me to collections, just that BS about how ever 30 days I didn't pay, I now owed more and more money. I eventually saw it as an active collection on my credit report though, and ended up paying it. I was totally set on NOT paying it, just based on principle*, but I wanted to try and get a house so I'm trying to keep my credit as clean as possible.
*The principle being that how F'ing DARE Denver tell me that I owe THEM money for not having a front plate on my car. It is against their rule, but they are not out any money for me having done so. It is RIDICULOUS for them to tell me that I owe MORE money, because I didn't pay them when they asked. It's not the same as defaulting on a loan or not paying for a purchase. Denver didn't lose money because I parked with no plate, and fuck them for telling me that I owe them MORE, for not paying what I never owed in the first place.
