Oops, looks like you have a little bit of the keyboard commando bug too. You don't have to be a professional or have tons of shooting competition trophies on your wall to know when a guy choked. It’s because of Mike’s incredible record and experience that anyone can say he choked. With his experience, he should have hit it. But he missed and that’s what makes it a choke.
I am a regular Joe. I may or may not hit that target. Mike is a professional. He missed. He choked. But he is still better than me.
That said, not many are giving props to Kelly for beating Mike. Mike has many, many years of experience on Kelly and Kelly beat him one-on-one. Props. Kelly seemed to be one cool cucumber and proved that he too is one hell of a professional marksman after others there questioned his experience. He proved it once again after he did so well with the handgun shooting portion this last episode even though he had very little experience with the hardware.
And if the magic of TV wasn’t lying to me, props to Andre for hitting the bull like that during the voting.
Also, let me stop you before you get all tough guy on me and call me down to the range to get “my ass whoopin”…you are better then me. I don’t even know you but you could beat me by a mile any day. Although I shoot thousands upon thousands of rounds each year through many different types of long guns and pistols, I have no experience in competition and no formal training except what my father taught me. Granted, I’ve learned a lot from him as he is a retired LEO, Swat sniper, expert pistol shooter, firearms instructor…he has yet to transfer his skill to me. I am the first to admit my marksman skills have a long way to go before they can even be called “good”. I would be embarrassed in any rifle or pistol competition…but would be willing to take a crack at some of you on the trap range. Oops, now I’m a keyboard commando too. [Wink]
This show is a total joke. how can you miss a target that big at 100 yards???? I have better aim with a golfball. How about some history on the history channel for once!
It is sposed to be on the Comedy Central Channel.....
No, you're not, and it shows. Even Mike admits he choked. He's related that to the shooting community multiple times. The difference is obvious in your understanding of the higher end shooting skills out there and the reality that even the best shooter can have a bad run. This changes how you see and deal with judging the guy and not make statements like the one main individual I was addressing in my previous posts had done.
If you shoot that much already, then just grab your gear and come out to a match. Pistol, rifle, three gun... just make it happen. You need help finding the place and time, let me know.

I can shoot a bow better than these folks with both arms tied behind my back...
(just kidding)
ok there I've done it... my time to brag. :)
My daughter two years ago, her arrows are the pink ones, the orange/yellow ones are mine.

Going this next weekend to the same Traditional Archery Shoot, I'll try to get some good shots! (and photos)
The Battle Clout is always fun, similar to TopShot - but at a lot longer distance, and about 100 shooters! Awesome watching that may arrows at once flying through the air.
this show is supposed to find the best all around shot. if so then it needs to not be a reality show. if there were any desire to actually find the best all around marksman, the show would be structured completely different. each competitor would shoot all the weapons with a cumulative score. the elimination makes for good TV in someones mind, but a person can be eliminated in one area while they may kick ass in all others. the people left might suck in all areas except the one that the good shooter lost in.
+1 Henry. Seems like they should run it like a pistol match where everyone shoots every stage, and the final tally decides who did the best.
It's about entertainment and drama and things people who don't know a thing about shooting (they outnumber us, you know) could enjoy, not "the way it ought to be done". Same as anything from Hollywood -- they don't want reality, they want entertainment.
