Several years back I worked in Vegas for approx 3 months one summer - it was over 100 degrees the entire time I was there, day AND night! Y'all can have it......

I visited this place when I was like 6 years old and I am pretty sure it was the seed that made me love aviation. I found it again last weekend.

No pic but there was a Rockwell B-1 Bomber flying around COS today…..I think it was monitoring me…..probably.
The camera in my phone is garbage so its hard to see but I'm pretty sure I saw a C5 on Saturday over east Colorado Springs. Might not be very interesting to some but it was new to me to see in the sky. Wish Id taken the picture when it was banking instead of staring at it trying to figure out what it was though.
Every time I'm visiting around San Antonio, it's real cool to see those flying around.
Biggest thing I've ever seen flying was the Antonov
Getting my nerd on.... like to monitor air traffic locally. The tracker setup is a raspberry pi 4 running piaware, connected to an SDR using a 26in 1090mhz ads-b antenna. Fabricated an outdoor box to house everything & the antenna is about 20' up. Feeding flightaware, adsbx, and flight radar24. Tried feeding plane finder, but their software sucked and kept crashing my sdr. Currently ranked around 5800 for contributors out of 32,000 ish, worldwide. Id like to get the antenna higher & then the score would be better. Still fiddling with the project.
Can see traffic as far as Cheyenne & Pueblo on most days, even farther to the west though the range doesnt extend as far east (respectively) because of the large trees & tall building adjacent to/on the east side of my property.
Haven't looked through the individual records to confirm that was infact a C5 yet but Im pretty sure. Unfortunately Military planes dont have much info associated with them in the logs.
Evidently, I like planes & tracking them more than I ever realized, or was willing to admit until now.
